Hooga vs Vital: Which Red Light Therapy Brand Wins in 2026?
Medical review: Red Light Therapy Top 10 articles are checked by the site medical team for evidence-based wording. This comparison is wellness information. It is not a diagnosis or a care plan. Red light therapy may help with recovery, skin appearance, and comfort. It is not a substitute for a licensed clinician.
Hooga Health sells a three-line panel ladder that starts at $149 and ends on a 61-inch chassis. Vital Red Light sells four home panels, and the 2.0 pair lists nine named wavelengths including 1060 nm from $599. This page compares those two brands only. RLT Home appears later as a third catalog in the funnel, not as a crowned winner here.

The pairing is not a single-winner catalog. A buyer who wants 1060 nm under $600 and a stronger public review sample lands on Vital Pro 2.0. A buyer who wants a $149 first panel, a 61-inch chassis, or a named 6-inch spectrometer number lands on Hooga. Both wins are real. Crowning a third brand on this page would dodge the comparison.
The two catalogs, without a third brand in the score
Hooga Health is the value ladder. HG is two-wavelength, single-chip, and cheap enough that HG200 at $149 is a real door. PRO keeps 660 and 850 nm on dual-chip LEDs. ULTRA is four bands (630, 660, 810, 850 nm) on quad-chip LEDs, with a touchscreen, brightness, and pulse from 1 to 9,999 Hz. PRO4500 and ULTRA4500 are 61-inch panels, the tallest chassis here. Sauna Ember/Blaze, mats, and the Luma mask sit outside the home-panel score.
Vital Red Light is a short home ladder. The four panels that matter are Pro, Pro 2.0, Elite, and Elite 2.0. Pro and Elite list 630, 660, 830, and 850 nm. The 2.0 pair lists nine names including 1060 nm from $599. Density for those nine names is not published. Charge at $299 is a handheld. Premier, Ultimate, and Bed are commercial and are not scored against Hooga home panels. Stands are extra on both brands. Both list free US shipping, a three-year warranty, and an HSA/FSA path. The split is spectrum versus size versus sticker, not a hidden fake-brand story.
Hooga
Where Hooga is the honest pick
The $149 HG200, the 61-inch PRO4500 and ULTRA4500, named Light Therapy Insiders spectrometer figures at six inches on ULTRA360 and ULTRA1500, a 60-day trial, goggles in the box, and a 13-SKU size ladder. Dual-chip on PRO and quad-chip on ULTRA are how those panels place more than one wavelength at each LED site. That is even surface mix, not a defect.
Vital Red Light
Where Vital is the honest pick
Nine named 2.0 bands including 1060 nm from $599, 830 nm on every home panel, a 30-degree beam, 2.0 presets (Fat Loss, Skin, Pets, Muscle, Sleep, Joint Pain), and Trustpilot 4.8 / 5 from 83 versus Hooga’s 4.3 / 5 from 54, both pulled 1 September 2026. Outliyr has a named spectrometer number on Elite 1.0 at 12 inches. That number is not mixed with Hooga’s 6-inch LTI peaks.
Spectrum: count is not density
Wavelength count without a share table is a menu, not a dose. Hooga HG and PRO list 660 nm and 850 nm, two bands that carry a large share of the skin-level red and deeper near-infrared literature. ULTRA adds 630 nm and 810 nm on quad-chip LEDs. If four chips share power evenly, each named band is about a quarter of the output. That 25 percent figure is a layout inference, not a published watt table. The line does not list 480 nm, 830 nm, or 1060/1064 nm. That absence is a fact, not a secret flaw.
Vital Pro and Elite list 630, 660, 830, and 850 nm. The 2.0 list adds 480, 590, 670, 810, and 1060 nm, nine names in all. Density is not published, so a nine-name list can still put most energy in 660 and 850 nm. This page does not invent a 2.0 share table. The unique listing in this pairing is 1060 nm on Pro 2.0 at $599 and Elite 2.0 at $1,499. Hooga has no 1060 or 1064 nm panel SKU. Vital also names 830 nm on every home panel. Hooga ULTRA names 810 and 850 nm, not 830 nm. Until Vital publishes a share, the honest sentence is: Vital names 830 and 1060; Hooga names 810 on ULTRA and does not name 1060.
Multi-brand ranking

This page is Hooga versus Vital only. The ranking page places these two next to the rest of the 2026 field without turning that field into the winner of this pairing.
Open the best red light therapy panels rankingPower and Irradiance: Measured by Independent Third Parties
Manufacturer stickers on both catalogs sit above independent spectrometers. The rule is peak-to-peak or average-to-average, spectrometer-to-spectrometer. Solar-meter numbers are not mixed with spectrometer numbers. Six-inch numbers are not mixed with twelve-inch numbers to declare a stronger panel.
Light Therapy Insiders measured Hooga ULTRA360 at six inches: peak about 74 mW/cm2 and average about 60 mW/cm2, against 132 mW/cm2 claimed. The same lab measured ULTRA1500 at 104 mW/cm2 peak and 81.7 mW/cm2 average at six inches, against 165 mW/cm2 claimed. Hooga comparison charts still print higher 6-inch figures whose method is unstated. This page uses the LTI pair, not the sticker.
Outliyr measured Vital Elite 1.0 with a Hopoocolor OHSP-350IR at twelve inches: 78.3 mW/cm2, against marketed 150 to 210 mW/cm2 with distance unstated. Elite 1.0 is the four-band Elite, not Elite 2.0. Outliyr logged 630, 660, 830, and 850 nm on that unit. There is no published 6-inch spectrometer peak for Pro 2.0 or Elite 2.0 in the sources used here. That gap is stated, not guessed. LTI at 6 inches and Outliyr at 12 inches are not used to crown a stronger panel. Hooga wins named 6-inch coverage on two ULTRA models. Vital wins a named 12-inch figure on Elite 1.0.
Chips: dual-chip is a fact
Hooga publishes the chip layout. HG is single-chip (one wavelength per package). PRO is dual-chip (660 and 850 nm at each site). ULTRA is quad-chip (630, 660, 810, 850 nm at each site). Dual-chip and quad-chip spread bands across the face. Electrical power at that site is split. A same-wattage single-chip puts full power into one peak, which can mean a cleaner spike and more energy at that wavelength for depth. Dual-chip’s counter is even surface mix. Both statements can be true. Dual-chip is a fact, not a smear.
Vital lists 5W LEDs and does not publish chip configuration. This page will not invent one. Published counts: Pro 70, Pro 2.0 72, Elite 210, Elite 2.0 216. ULTRA360 and Pro 2.0 both sit at 72 LEDs. The difference is four named bands with a 6-inch LTI number versus nine named bands with unpublished density.
Beam angle: 60 versus 30
Hooga publishes 60 degrees on HG, PRO, and ULTRA. Vital publishes 30 degrees on the home panels. A 30-degree optic throws a tighter column and keeps more of the beam on the body at a given distance, at the cost of a smaller lit patch. A 60-degree optic lights a wider patch and falls off faster off-axis. Neither angle is a defect. For a face-and-torso tabletop at 6 to 12 inches, 30 degrees is the more concentrated field. For a 61-inch panel meant to cover an adult standing in front of it, 60 degrees plus a 16-inch width is how Hooga fills the silhouette. Vital’s Elite 2.0 is 8.5 inches wide, so the 30-degree beam is working on a narrow panel. Width and angle travel together. Awarding “beam” to Vital is an optic award, not a coverage award.
Coverage and density, not LED count as a brag
Density is LEDs divided by panel area, not a raw count. ULTRA4500: 900 LEDs in 61 x 16 in, about 0.92 / sq in. PRO4500 about 0.94 / sq in. ULTRA1500 about 0.88 / sq in. Elite 2.0: 216 LEDs in 36.6 x 8.5 in, about 0.69 / sq in. Pro 2.0 about 0.68 / sq in. Hooga’s 61-inch flagships win density and height. Elite 2.0 is a 36-inch-class panel, close in height to PRO1500 (36 x 8.6 in, 300 dual-chip LEDs) and shorter than ULTRA1500 at 39.5 inches.
PRO4500 and ULTRA4500 at 61 inches are the only single-panel full-height options here. Elite 2.0 at 36.6 inches covers torso height and needs a second panel or a step-and-repeat for head-to-toe. ULTRA4500 is 16 inches wide. Mid panels on both brands sit near 8.5 to 8.6 inches. Stacking two mid panels raises coverage area, not irradiance on one square centimeter. HG1500 at 35.8 x 11 in and $899 is Hooga’s wider two-band mid panel. Buyers who want 1060 nm on a 36-inch class stay on Elite 2.0.
Modes, timers, and pulse
Hooga HG is a timer panel. PRO adds flicker-free drive and stand compatibility. ULTRA adds a touchscreen timer, adjustable brightness, pulse from 1 to 9,999 Hz, and remote panel sync. There are no named condition presets on any Hooga panel line. A buyer who wants “sleep” or “joints” as a one-tap program will not find it on HG, PRO, or ULTRA.
Vital 2.0 lists pre-set modes: Fat Loss, Skin, Pets, Muscle, Sleep, and Joint Pain. Those presets mix the nine named bands, including 480 nm blue and 590 nm yellow on the relevant programs. This page does not treat a preset name as a clinical protocol. It is a convenience layer. Vital Remote is $199 extra for 2.0 control. Hooga’s ULTRA pulse range is the wider Hertz window in this pairing. Pulse is a feature, not a proof of better outcomes. Buyers who want named presets take Vital 2.0. Buyers who want a wide pulse dial on a four-band panel take Hooga ULTRA.
In the box, stands, and realistic totals
Hooga lists protective goggles in the box on HG, PRO, and ULTRA product pages. HG200 and HG300 include a foldable tabletop stand. PRO and ULTRA include a tabletop stand. Full-body floor stands are separate. Live 1 September 2026: Tabletop Stand $99, Compact 1500/750 Stand $199, Vertical Stand $299, Horizontal Stand $299. The Vertical Stand is a rolling floor base. It is vertical. It is not a motorized lie-under. A realistic full-height Hooga total is ULTRA4500 $3,499 plus Vertical $299, $3,798, or PRO4500 $3,099 plus Vertical $299, $3,398. Mid-height ULTRA1500 $1,399 plus Compact $199 is $1,598.
Vital panels ship without a floor stand. Live accessories: Bootstand $99 (Elite), Bootstand 2.0 $199 (Elite 2.0, wheels included), FlexStand $499 (fits Elite 2.0, described for bed or table use), Stationary Stand $995, Full Motion Stand $1,995. A realistic Elite 2.0 standing total is $1,499 plus Bootstand 2.0 $199, $1,698, or plus FlexStand $499, $1,998. Pro 2.0 at $599 still needs a table, a hook, or a stand the buyer already owns. Eye protection is not listed as included. Vital’s FAQ tells users to protect the eyes when near-infrared is on. That is a real in-the-box gap versus Hooga, not an invented one.
| Setup | Panel | Stand (live) | Realistic total | Body coverage |

User reviews: independent Trustpilot, 1 September 2026
This row uses public Trustpilot listings only. Manufacturer on-site star widgets are not mixed in. Scores, counts, and the pull date are named. Thin samples are named as thin. The row is awarded on score plus sample size, not on vibe.
Hooga · Trustpilot
4.3 / 5
The sample is modest. Reviewers on that listing often mention value, support replies, and pain or skin routines. Negative reviews on the same page include dead-on-arrival units and return-shipping cost. Hooga’s public reply rate on negatives is visible on the listing. Fifty-four reviews is enough to score, not enough to treat as a large-n study.
Vital Red Light · Trustpilot
4.8 / 5
Higher score and a larger sample than Hooga on the same date. Recent reviews on that listing mention Elite 2.0 size and settings, Pro 2.0 skin and joint routines, and build. Negative themes on independent roundups of the same brand include shipping delays and remote-control confusion. The Trustpilot listing itself is the score source.
Vital wins the user-reviews row: 4.8 versus 4.3, 83 versus 54. Hooga’s sample is thinner, and the score is lower. That is the whole award. Neither brand is scored from Amazon stars or from a homepage widget.

Best red light therapy panelsTrial, shipping, and warranty
Hooga: 60-day return window from delivery, 3-year warranty, free US shipping. Returns are not free. A prepaid label is offered on US returns and its cost is deducted from the refund. Open-box items are listed as non-refundable. That is a shorter cash-back path than a prepaid, brand-paid label, and it is still a longer window than Vital’s 30 days.
Vital: 30-day return on HOME devices only. Commercial devices (Premier, Ultimate, Bed) and all stands are non-returnable. Customer pays return shipping. No restocking fee is stated. 3-year warranty. Free USA shipping, with worldwide options listed on the site. The 30-day HOME-only rule is the tighter trial in this pairing. A buyer who wants six weeks with a panel, not four, takes Hooga. A buyer who is sure about Elite 2.0 and cares more about the 2.0 spectrum can live with 30 days. Warranty years tie at three.
FDA language: registered is not cleared for home panels
No home red light therapy panel in this pairing is FDA-cleared as a medical device for treating disease. FDA registration is a facility listing. Cleared is a 510(k) pathway. Approved is a different, higher pathway that these panels do not hold. Hooga states that panels are made in an FDA-registered facility and marketed as general wellness. That is the accurate panel sentence. Hooga Luma, a face mask, is FDA 510(k) cleared under K253712 for listed OTC indications. A mask clearance is not a panel clearance. This page does not transfer Luma’s K-number onto HG, PRO, or ULTRA.
Vital markets “FDA Cleared” language around the panel line. A public 510(k) K-number for the Pro / Elite home panels was not found in the sources used for this page. Until a K-number is on the FDA database for those panels, this page treats them as not cleared. That is a labeling note, not a safety accusation. Both brands remain FDA-registered-style wellness panels for the purpose of this comparison. HSA/FSA eligibility on both sites is a payment path, not a clearance.

Tabletops: ULTRA360 $399 with a 6-inch LTI peak, four bands, and a tabletop in the box, versus Pro 2.0 $599 with nine named bands including 1060 nm and no stand. That is spectrum versus price, not a quality smear. 36-inch class: PRO1500 $1,199 or ULTRA1500 $1,399 versus Elite $999 or Elite 2.0 $1,499. Elite 2.0 is the 1060 nm 36-inch pick. ULTRA1500 is the named-spectrometer 36-to-40-inch pick. PRO4500 and ULTRA4500 have no Vital height match.
Who should buy Hooga
Buy Hooga when the constraint is sticker, height, or a named 6-inch spectrometer. HG200 at $149 is the cheapest real panel here. ULTRA360 at $399 undercuts Pro 2.0 by $200 and already has an LTI peak. ULTRA1500 at $1,399 is taller than Elite 2.0 with 104/81.7 at six inches. ULTRA4500 and PRO4500 are the only 61-inch answers. The 60-day window, goggles, and tabletop-in-box lower friction. Accept the trade: no 1060, 830, or 480 nm on the panel lines, no condition presets, and Trustpilot 4.3 from 54 rather than 4.8 from 83. HG and PRO are 660/850 tools at 660/850 prices, not failed 2.0 panels.
Who should buy Vital Red Light
Buy Vital when the constraint is 1060 nm, a nine-name 2.0 list, 830 nm on every home panel, a 30-degree optic, or the stronger review sample. Pro 2.0 at $599 is the cheapest 1060 nm panel here. Elite 2.0 at $1,499 is the 36-inch version. Presets exist. Trustpilot is 4.8 / 5 from 83. Accept the trade: 30-day HOME-only trial, stands extra and non-returnable, no 61-inch chassis, unpublished 2.0 density, no goggles listed in the box, and Outliyr at 12 inches on Elite 1.0 rather than a 6-inch peak on 2.0. Pro at $399 is a four-band tabletop with 830 nm. 1060 nm starts at Pro 2.0. The $200 step from Pro to Pro 2.0 is the spectrum step that makes Vital’s case.
A third catalog, not a third winner on this page
RLT Home is not the overall winner of Hooga versus Vital. It is a third line for readers who want published seven-band density, including 480 nm and 1064 nm, spectrometer peaks published at six inches across the Total Spectrum range, nine science-built modes, a free personalised weekly usage plan, and a motorized stand on the full-body sizes. Live 1 September 2026 from redlighttherapyhome.com/products.json: RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI $495, RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT $995, RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX $1,595, RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA $2,595, RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE $4,495. HG200 at $149. PRO4500 and ULTRA4500 at 61 inches. Light Therapy Insiders 6-inch peaks on ULTRA360 and ULTRA1500. 60-day trial. Goggles in the box. That is the sticker, chassis, and lab-number half of this pairing.
Runner-up niches still apply inside the dual trophy. If the buyer will only own one panel and that panel must list 1060 nm, Vital Pro 2.0 or Elite 2.0 is the pick and Hooga is the runner-up for value and height. If the buyer will only own one panel and that panel must be 61 inches or $149, Hooga is the pick and Vital is the runner-up for the 2.0 list and the review sample. Both sentences are true. A single auto-crown would be a lie about this catalog pair.

Hooga and Vital each won real rows. The ranking page is where those rows sit next to the rest of the 2026 panel field.
Best red light therapy panelsFAQ
Does Vital win overall because of 1060 nm?
Vital wins the 1060 nm row and the Trustpilot row. Hooga wins entry price, 61-inch height, and named 6-inch LTI data. This page uses a dual trophy because those wins point at different buyers. A 1060-first shopper should still buy Vital Pro 2.0 or Elite 2.0.
Is Hooga ULTRA4500 more powerful than Vital Elite 2.0?
Not as a mixed-meter slogan. Light Therapy Insiders measured Hooga ULTRA1500 at 104 peak / 81.7 average at 6 inches. Outliyr measured Vital Elite 1.0 at 78.3 mW/cm2 at 12 inches. Those are different distances and different models. Spectrometer peak-to-peak or average-to-average only. No solar-meter mix. ULTRA4500 is taller and denser. That is coverage, not a 6-versus-12 power crown.
Why is dual-chip not treated as a Hooga flaw?
PRO dual-chip and ULTRA quad-chip place more than one wavelength at each LED site. That is even surface mix. Power at that site is split across chips, so each named band is weaker than a same-wattage single-chip peak. Both halves of that sentence are physics. Neither half is a smear.
Are these panels FDA-cleared?
Home panels in this pairing are FDA-registered style wellness devices, not FDA-cleared medical devices. Hooga Luma is a separate mask with 510(k) K253712. Vital’s panel “FDA Cleared” language did not show a public K-number in the sources used here. Registration is not clearance.
Is there a discount code for Hooga or Vital?
No. This page does not invent competitor codes. TOP10 at 6 percent is RLT Home only, listed in the funnel with live 1 September 2026 prices.
Which tabletop should a first buyer take?
If the budget cap is $200, Hooga HG200 at $149 or HG300 at $199. If the cap is $400 and the buyer wants four bands plus a named 6-inch lab number, Hooga ULTRA360 at $399. If the buyer wants 1060 nm on a tabletop, Vital Pro 2.0 at $599. Those three sentences do not collapse into one SKU.
Does stacking two Vital Elite 2.0 panels match a Hooga 61-inch?
Two Elite 2.0 panels raise coverage area at 2 x $1,499 plus stands, and each panel is still 8.5 inches wide. Hooga ULTRA4500 is one 61 x 16 in chassis at $3,499 plus a $299 vertical stand. More panels are more area, not more irradiance on one spot. Do the dollars and the width, not a count-of-boxes myth.
