Hooga vs Helio Cure: Which Red Light Therapy Brand Wins in 2026?
Medical review: All articles on Red Light Therapy Top 10 are reviewed for scientific accuracy and evidence-based relevance by our medical expert team. This page is wellness information, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. Sessions with either mix may help a general wellness routine. Neither panel is presented as treating disease.
This pairing is a Wisconsin value ladder against a 1064 nm specialist, not a third-brand crown. Hooga sells HG from $149 on two bands, PRO still on 660 plus 850 nm, and quad-chip ULTRA that adds 630 and 810 nm, plus a 61-inch 4500 chassis. Helio Cure publishes about 19.44% of Spark, Glow, and Nova at 1064 nm, skips blue on purpose, and ships a 19-degree beam on three of four panels. Criterion rows split. There is no single overall crown for every buyer, and RLT Home is not auto-crowned here.

Dual winners: Hooga and Helio Cure
Hooga Health ships from Wisconsin at hoogahealth.com. Helio Cure is sold by Quantron LLC at heliocure.com. Both offer a three-year warranty, a 60-day trial, free US shipping, and FDA-registered language rather than clearance. Live stickers were pulled 1 September 2026 from each brand’s products.json. Hooga opens at HG200 $149 and tops out at ULTRA4500 $3,499. Helio is on a Labor Day compare-at sale: Spark $449 (was $549), Glow $1,049 with floor stand (was $1,199), Blaze $2,499 (was $2,799), Nova $4,999 (was $5,649). No coupon is invented. Code TOP10 is 6 percent off RLT Home only and appears only in the later funnel.
At-a-glance verdict: Hooga if the purchase is a $149 to $399 on-ramp, a named Light Therapy Insiders spectrometer trail, or a 61-inch single chassis without paying Nova money. Helio Cure if the purchase is published 19.44% at 1064 nm, a 19-degree beam, 830 nm in the mix, and a floor or electric stand already sitting in the SKU. Sessions with either mix may help a general wellness routine. Neither panel is presented as treating disease.

The brands at a glance
Hooga
Three LED architectures, one value ladder
Hooga is the budget panel brand in this pairing. Three families share a 60-degree beam, goggles in the box, a three-year warranty, and a 60-day trial. HG is single-chip 660 plus 850 nm from $149. PRO is dual-chip 660 plus 850 nm from $299. ULTRA is quad-chip 630, 660, 810, and 850 nm from $399. PRO4500 is $3,099 and ULTRA4500 is $3,499, both about 61 by 16 inches. No live Hooga panel lists 480, 830, or 1064 nm. That is a design choice, not a smear of Helio Cure.
Helio Cure
One six-band mix, scaled across four sizes
Helio Cure sells four named panels that share a six-wavelength mix. Spark is the 72-LED tabletop at 11.8 x 11.4 inches. Glow is the 216-LED, 29.9 x 11.8-inch half-body panel, and the only Helio unit LightLab International physically reported. Blaze is the 480-LED, 64.3-inch full-body panel. Nova is the 864-LED, 65 x 20.5-inch flagship. Helio skips 480 nm blue on purpose, publishes a thick 1064 nm slice, and ships a 19-degree beam on Spark, Glow, and Nova. The stand is already priced into the live Glow, Blaze, and Nova SKUs.
Spectrum and wavelength density
Wavelength count is the wrong first question. Density is the right one. A panel can list four bands and still pour most of the diodes into 660 and 850 nm. A panel can list six bands and still starve 1064 nm. Helio publishes per-band LED share on every size. Hooga does not publish a percent table. PRO is described as 1:1 per dual-chip LED. ULTRA is a quad-chip (two red, two NIR per lens). Treat that as an even four-way split unless the brand later publishes otherwise. HG is simply 660 plus 850 nm, allocation unpublished.
On Spark, Glow, and Nova, Helio states 19.44% of output at each of 630, 660, 810, and 1064 nm, plus 13.88% at 830 nm. The remainder is about 8.3% at 850 nm. Blaze shifts the mix: 20% at each of 630, 660, and 810 nm, 16.67% at 1064 nm, 13.33% at 830 nm, and 10% at 850 nm. That 1064 nm slice is the actual fight in this pairing. No live Hooga panel lists 1064 nm at all. ULTRA’s deepest listed band is 850 nm. 810 nm appears only on ULTRA, not on HG or PRO.
Helio also carries 830 nm on every size. 830 nm is one of the most studied near-infrared lines in the photobiomodulation literature. Hooga does not list it. That is a genuine Helio win on mix, not a counting trick. The matching Helio gap is 480 nm blue: Helio skips it on purpose. Hooga skips it too. Neither brand in this pairing is a seven-band, blue-in-the-mix panel.
Density still beats count. ULTRA listing four wavelengths does not make it a 1064 nm panel. Helio wins the spectrum row on published 1064 nm share. Hooga wins it from the other direction on a $149 two-band on-ramp and a $399 four-band tabletop.
Power and Irradiance: Measured by Independent Third Parties
This section uses spectrometer figures against spectrometer figures. It does not mix a solar power meter with a spectrometer. Solar meters overstate LED output.
Hooga publishes 6-inch chart figures (ULTRA360 132, ULTRA1500 165, ULTRA4500 155). The method is unstated. Light Therapy Insiders measured ULTRA360 at about 74 mW/cm² peak at 6 inches versus 132 claimed, and ULTRA1500 at peak 104 / average 81.7 versus 165 claimed. That named LTI trail is a genuine Hooga advantage. HG and PRO still lack public LTI cells.
Helio Cure sent Glow to LightLab International: about 71.7 mW/cm² average at 6 inches. The brand also cites about 69 mW/cm² at 12 inches and over 300 mW/cm² at the LED source. Those are not the same measurement. Spark, Blaze, and Nova inherit the Glow report rather than a per-model 6-inch table. That Glow-only physical report is a real limitation, not an invented weakness.
Peak-to-peak, ULTRA360 LTI is about 74 and ULTRA1500 LTI is 104. Average-to-average, ULTRA1500 at 81.7 sits above Glow LightLab at 71.7. Helio’s 19-degree beam still concentrates energy into a tighter field, so a matching 6-inch number is not a matching 18-inch map.
Do not stack Hooga’s 132 or 165 claimed 6-inch chart against Helio’s 300-at-source headline. Those are different instruments and different distances. The comparable cells are LTI spectrometer versus LightLab spectrometer, peak-to-peak or average-to-average, with the Glow-only asterisk on Helio and the HG/PRO-untested asterisk on Hooga.
LED chips: dual-chip is a fact, not a smear
Hooga changes chip architecture as the buyer climbs the ladder. HG uses single-chip LEDs. PRO puts 660 and 850 nm behind dual-chip LEDs at a 1:1 split. ULTRA puts four wavelengths behind quad-chip LEDs (two red, two NIR per lens). Dual-chip and quad-chip spread wavelengths across a lens. Single-chip puts one wavelength’s full diode power into one peak. Both stories can be true. Neither is a defect.
Helio Cure specifies 3535 single-chip 5W LEDs on Spark, Glow, and Nova. Blaze is listed as Single/Dual Chip, so this page does not pretend Blaze is a pure single-chip panel. Single-chip is a Helio differentiator against PRO and ULTRA, not against HG.
Quad-chip on ULTRA is how Hooga puts 630 and 810 nm into a $399 tabletop. The cost is unpublished per-band density and no 830 or 1064 nm.
Beam angle
Hooga publishes 60 degrees across HG, PRO, and ULTRA. That is a flood. It is the usual home-panel optic: more of the body sits inside the beam as the user steps back, at the cost of a faster drop in irradiance with distance.
Helio Cure publishes 19 degrees on Spark, Glow, and Nova. That is a focused beam. It keeps more energy in a tighter column, which is the point of a 1064 nm density story: get the deeper band to a target rather than washing the room. The tradeoff is coverage. A 19-degree optic wants more careful positioning, or a taller chassis, to paint a torso. Blaze is listed at 19 degrees in the comparison snapshot used for this page.
A tabletop buyer often likes the 60-degree flood on HG200 or ULTRA360. A 1064 nm buyer is usually shopping the 19-degree Helio beam on purpose. Sessions with either geometry may help a wellness routine.
Coverage and what full body actually means
Full body is a chassis measurement, not a marketing adjective. Hooga’s answer is a 61-inch-tall, about 16-inch-wide 4500 panel: PRO4500 61.2 x 15.7 inches with 900 dual-chip LEDs at $3,099, ULTRA4500 61 x 16 inches with 900 quad-chip LEDs at $3,499. The vertical floor stand is extra at $299, so a realistic ULTRA4500 total is about $3,798 before tax. That 16-inch width is the Hooga coverage win against Helio Blaze, which is taller (64.3 inches) but only 11.8 inches wide.
Helio’s answer is a taller chassis with the stand already in the SKU. Blaze is 64.3 x 11.8 inches, 480 LEDs, $2,499 live. Nova is 65 x 20.5 inches, 864 LEDs, $4,999 live, with a 360-degree rotating electric stand included. Nova is the largest single panel here on height and width. After Hooga’s $299 stand, ULTRA4500 still undercuts Nova by about $1,201.
Mid-size: ULTRA1500 is 39.5 x 8.6 inches at $1,399 plus stand. Glow is 29.9 x 11.8 inches at $1,049 with the floor stand in the SKU, plus 1064 nm. Tabletop: HG200 is 9.5 x 6 inches at $149. Spark is 11.8 x 11.4 inches at $449. ULTRA360 is the four-band Hooga tabletop at $399 and the panel Light Therapy Insiders actually measured.
Treatment modes, pulsing, and privacy
Hooga keeps firmware simple. HG and PRO offer a timer and a red / NIR / both switch. ULTRA adds a touchscreen, adjustable brightness, pulse from 1 to 9,999 Hz, and remote panel sync. There are no named condition presets on any Hooga line. There is no app. That is a privacy win by omission: nothing to pair, nothing to log.
Helio Cure ships five named presets (Face/Skin, Pain Relief, Weight Management, Hair Restoration, Brain Health), a full-spectrum mode, and custom controls, with pulse from 0 to 5,000 Hz. Blaze adds voice. There is still no app. Offline controls are a shared win. Named condition presets are a Helio win. The names are convenience labels, not clinical claims. Sessions using a Pain Relief preset may help a wellness routine. They are not a diagnosis and they are not an FDA-cleared indication for a home panel.
Neither brand requires a phone. The mode row goes to Helio for named presets. The simplicity row goes to Hooga HG and PRO for a timer and a two-band switch.
What is in the box, and what is not
Hooga lists goggles in the box on HG, PRO, and ULTRA. Small panels include a foldable tabletop stand. Floor stands are extra: Compact 1500/750 $199, vertical $299, tabletop accessory $99.
Helio lists protective reading glasses. Spark includes the tabletop stand in the $449 SKU. Glow’s live $1,049 SKU is Single Panel + Floor Stand. Twin Glow plus rolling stand is $1,999. Nova includes a 360-degree rotating electric stand. Blaze’s $2,499 SKU is sold complete with stand. That stand-in-SKU choice is a real Helio win on realistic totals.
Eyewear type differs. Hooga lists goggles. Helio lists protective reading glasses. Check the actual pair rather than assuming both ship the same blackout goggles.
User reviews: independent Trustpilot, 1 September 2026
This row uses independent public Trustpilot listings, pulled 1 September 2026. It does not mix manufacturer on-site star widgets with Trustpilot. Score and sample size both count. A 4.9 from a brand’s own product page is not used here.
Hooga
4.3 / 5
Public themes: value, skin and pain comments, generally responsive support, plus a minority of one-star threads about dead-on-arrival units, fan noise, and return shipping. Fifty-four reviews is modest. It is still a listing, which Helio’s eight-review Ireland page is not.
Helio Cure
4.1 / 5
The eight reviews are largely positive. They cannot be padded with on-site stars. The sample is thin. Score plus sample awards this row to Hooga.
Hooga wins user reviews on 4.3 from 54 against 4.1 from 8. A thin Helio sample can grow. Until it does, the row stays with Hooga.
Trial, returns, and warranty
Both brands publish three years and 60 days. The fine print is where they diverge, and even there the gap is small.
Hooga: 60-day trial, no restocking fee stated, free US outbound shipping. A US prepaid return label is offered and deducted from the refund. Open-box items are non-refundable. Three-year warranty on HG, PRO, and ULTRA, including the $149 HG200.
Helio Cure: 60-day trial from the delivery date, written policy language that names Spark and Glow, no restocking fee stated, customer pays return shipping, free USA outbound shipping. Three-year warranty. Glow, Blaze, and Nova returns include the stand already in the SKU.
The trial row is close. Hooga’s three-year cover on a $149 panel is the named Hooga win. Helio’s stand-in-SKU return is the named Helio win. Call warranty-and-trial a split.
FDA-registered, not cleared
Every home red light panel in this pairing is FDA-registered, not FDA-cleared, and not a licensed treatment for disease. Hooga states it is made in an FDA-registered facility and marketed as general wellness. Helio Cure uses Class II medical device wording on product copy. Class II registration language is the same listing class other home panels use. It is not clearance. Helio’s FDA-registered as a Class II medical device sentence is accurate registration language, not a clearance for home-panel indications.
Neither brand holds a home-panel 510(k) clearance. HSA/FSA eligibility is a payment-rail fact, not a clinical claim. Sessions may help a wellness routine. They are not a substitute for care.

Matched tiers, realistic totals
- Tabletop: Hooga HG200 $149 or ULTRA360 $399 versus Helio Spark $449. Hooga wins sticker. Spark wins mix (19.44% at 1064 nm) and the larger 11.8-inch square chassis.
- Half-body: Hooga ULTRA1500 $1,399 plus $199 compact stand ($1,598) versus Helio Glow $1,049 with floor stand already in the SKU. Glow wins the realistic total and 1064 nm. ULTRA1500 wins named LTI peak (104) and height (39.5 vs 29.9 in).
- Full-body, value chassis: Hooga ULTRA4500 $3,499 plus $299 stand ($3,798) versus Helio Blaze $2,499 with stand in SKU. Blaze wins sticker, height, and 1064 nm. ULTRA4500 wins width (16 vs 11.8 in), LED count (900 vs 480), and the four-band LTI family.
- Full-body, flagship: Helio Nova $4,999 with electric stand versus Hooga ULTRA4500 $3,798 realistic. Nova wins size (65 x 20.5) and 19.44% at 1064 nm. ULTRA4500 wins sticker. There is no Hooga equivalent to Nova’s 20.5-inch width.
Who should choose Hooga?
Choose Hooga when the brief is budget-first, a named LTI spectrometer trail, or a 61-inch-wide chassis without Nova money. HG200 at $149 is the on-ramp. ULTRA360 at $399 is the four-band tabletop Light Therapy Insiders measured. ULTRA4500 at $3,499 is the 61 x 16-inch chassis. Trustpilot 4.3 from 54 is the larger sample.
Hooga is the wrong catalog if the brief is 1064 nm, 830 nm, a 19-degree beam, or a stand already in the SKU. Do not buy ULTRA4500 expecting Helio’s mix.
Who should choose Helio Cure?
Choose Helio Cure when the brief is published 19.44% at 1064 nm, 830 nm, a 19-degree beam, and a stand already in the live SKU. Spark at $449 is the cheapest 1064 nm slice here. Glow at $1,049 is the LightLab-tested size with floor stand. Blaze at $2,499 undercuts Hooga 4500 totals with a taller chassis. Nova at $4,999 is the 65 x 20.5-inch flagship.
Helio is the wrong catalog if the brief is $149 or a Trustpilot listing with more than a handful of reviews. LightLab tested Glow, not every size. Do not buy Spark expecting Hooga’s $149.

The verdict: dual winners
Trophy
🏆 Hooga for value, LTI, and sample
The $149 HG200, the named Light Therapy Insiders trail on ULTRA, the 61-inch 4500 chassis, thirteen live panel SKUs, and Trustpilot 4.3 from 54 reviews. Genuine runner-up niche if the buyer came for 1064 nm: Hooga still wins the on-ramp and the public review listing.
Trophy
🏆 Helio Cure for 1064 nm density
Published 19.44% at 1064 nm on Spark, Glow, and Nova, 830 nm in the mix, a 19-degree beam, and a stand already in the live SKU. Genuine runner-up niche if the buyer came for $149: Helio still wins the deep-infrared mix and the focused optic.
Call it a dual trophy because these are different buyers. Crowning Helio overall would ignore a $149 panel, a named LTI trail, and a 54-review listing. Crowning Hooga overall would ignore a published 19.44% 1064 nm slice that Hooga does not sell. RLT Home is not the winner of this page. A first panel under $400 is usually HG200, HG300, or ULTRA360. A first 1064 nm panel is usually Spark or Glow. Full-body then splits between ULTRA4500’s 16-inch width at $3,798 realistic, Blaze at $2,499 with stand in the SKU, and Nova if the 20.5-inch chassis is the point.
Keep comparing. See also Joovv vs Helio Cure.

No. No live Hooga HG, PRO, or ULTRA panel lists 1064 nm. ULTRA’s deepest listed band is 850 nm. 810 nm appears only on ULTRA. If 1064 nm density is the brief, Helio Cure is the catalog in this pairing.
Does Helio Cure have a $149 panel?
No. The live Helio tabletop is Spark at $449 (Labor Day compare-at $549 on 1 September 2026). Hooga HG200 is $149. That entry gap is a real Hooga win, not a rounding error.
Which brand has the better independent power data?
Hooga has a named Light Therapy Insiders spectrometer trail on ULTRA360 (peak about 74 mW/cm² at 6 in) and ULTRA1500 (peak 104 / avg 81.7). Helio has LightLab International on Glow (about 71.7 mW/cm² average at 6 in), with other sizes inheriting that report. Peak-to-peak or average-to-average only. Do not mix Helio’s 300 mW/cm² at-source headline with Hooga’s 6-inch chart claims.
Is dual-chip worse than single-chip?
No. Dual-chip and quad-chip are a design fact. They split a lens across wavelengths and tend to even out surface coverage. Single-chip puts one wavelength’s full diode power into one peak. Helio Spark, Glow, and Nova are 3535 single-chip. Hooga HG is single-chip on two bands. Hooga PRO is dual-chip. Hooga ULTRA is quad-chip. Pick the architecture that matches the mix you want, not a smear.
Who wins Trustpilot?
Hooga, on score plus sample, pulled 1 September 2026: 4.3 / 5 from 54 reviews versus Helio Cure 4.1 / 5 from 8 reviews on the Ireland listing. Helio’s sample is thin. Manufacturer on-site stars are not mixed in.
Are these panels FDA-cleared?
No. Both are FDA-registered. Helio uses Class II wording. Hooga cites an FDA-registered facility and general-wellness marketing. Home panels in this class are not FDA-cleared as treatments. Sessions may help a wellness routine. They are not a diagnosis.
Is there a discount code for Hooga or Helio Cure?
This page does not invent one. Live stickers are the manufacturer prices pulled 1 September 2026. Helio’s Labor Day compare-at sale is already in the SKU (Spark $449, Glow $1,049, Blaze $2,499, Nova $4,999). Code TOP10 is 6 percent off RLT Home only.
Is Helio Blaze a better full-body buy than Hooga ULTRA4500?
It depends which full-body metric matters. Blaze is taller (64.3 vs 61 in), cheaper as a complete SKU ($2,499 with stand versus about $3,798 realistic), and carries 16.67% at 1064 nm. ULTRA4500 is wider (16 vs 11.8 in), has 900 LEDs versus 480, sits in the LTI-tested ULTRA family, and stays four-band with no 1064 nm. Height-plus-1064 favors Blaze. Width-plus-LED-count-plus-LTI favors ULTRA4500.
Bottom line
Hooga versus Helio Cure is a $149 two-band and four-band value ladder against a published 19.44% 1064 nm specialist. Hooga wins the on-ramp, the named LTI trail, the 61-inch chassis, catalog breadth, and Trustpilot sample. Helio Cure wins 1064 nm density, 830 nm, the 19-degree beam, and stand-in-SKU totals. Dual trophy. RLT Home is a later funnel, not the winner of this page. Sessions with either mix may help a general wellness routine. Neither panel is presented as treating disease.
