iRestore vs Mito: Which Red Light Therapy Brand Wins in 2026?
Medical review: Articles on Red Light Therapy Top 10 are reviewed for scientific accuracy by our medical expert team. Wellness information, not a diagnosis. Red light therapy may help. It is not a treatment for any named disease.
This pairing is a two-catalog panel fight. iRestore later added Apex LED body panels (Pro 1500 and Elite 2160, 36 x 12 inches, eight named bands including 1060 nm, 10-year warranty, door mount in the crate) after building its name on FDA-cleared hair helmets. Mito Red Light is the Scottsdale ladder: MIN 2.0 at $249, MitoPRO X with 17 percent at 810 nm, ADAPT with 940 nm, LTI numbers, and a 60-day no-restock trial. Trophy from these two catalogs only. RLT Home is funnel only. Hair-cap FDA clearance is not Apex panel clearance.
Winner summary · two-brand panel fight
Overall winner: Mito Red Light
Match jobs, not logos. One Apex panel is a 36 x 12-inch half-body brick. Pair it with MitoPRO 1500X or MitoADAPT MAX, not MitoMIN 2.0. Full-body Apex is a two-panel bundle. Keep unnamed >200 mW/cm² out of the LTI cell. Helmet counts stay out of the panel tables. This is mitoredlight.com, not MITO LIGHT Europe.
Prices pulled 1 September 2026 from irestorelaser.com/products.json and mitoredlight.com/products.json. Apex JSON: Pro 1500 $1,299, Elite 2160 $2,199. Live Apex page ran a Labor Day overlay (Pro $1,099; Elite $1,599; stands $119 / $349 / $799). JSON has no compare-at. Confirm at checkout. Mito on list: MIN 2.0 $249, 300X $449, ADAPT MIN $549, 1500X $1,299, ADAPT MAX $1,499. No invented coupon. TOP10 is RLT Home only, funnel only.
At-a-glance verdict: Mito for published 810 nm share, LTI numbers, Trustpilot 4.4 from 756, a $249 on-ramp,. iRestore Apex for a 10-year warranty, 1060 nm, eight named bands, Elite control, and a door mount in the price. Sessions may help a general wellness routine. Neither home panel is FDA-cleared.

The brands at a glance
iRestore
A hair-led brand that also sells Apex body panels
iRestore is known for FDA-cleared hair helmets. Apex is the later body line: two 36 x 12 x 3-inch LED panels, eight listed wavelengths, a 30-degree beam, six smart modes, touchscreen, magnetic remote, and app. Pro 1500: 300 LEDs, group control. Elite 2160: 432 LEDs, individual control. Brand irradiance is greater than 200 mW/cm² at about 6 inches, instrument unnamed. One panel is half body. Door mount is included. Stands are extras.
Mito Red Light
The published-density size ladder, without 1060 nm
Mito Red Light has sold home panels from Arizona since 2018. Live ladder: MIN 2.0 $249 through MEGA 2.0 $1,049 (two-band, 2-year), MitoPRO+ from $369 (four bands, no 810 nm), MitoPRO X from $449 (six bands, 17 percent at 810 nm), MitoADAPT 4.0 from $549 (eight circuits including 940 nm, 11 modes). Floor stand $139. Universal $349. TruDUAL is construction, not an insult. No live Mito panel lists 1060 nm or 1064 nm.
Hair helmets are a different product class
iRestore still sells FDA-cleared hair helmets. They are not Apex panels and they do not belong in a panel irradiance table. Helmet diode counts stay out of every Apex versus Mito row below.
Hair devices use a 12-month money-back clock, not the Apex 60-day panel trial. Mito does not sell a laser hair helmet. MitoROOT is a scalp serum, not a cleared cap.
Edge: iRestore if the actual job is an FDA-cleared hair helmet plus, later, an Apex panel. Mito if the job is a body panel from the first dollar. This page does not award a panel trophy for hair-cap clearance.
User reviews: public Trustpilot, pulled 1 September 2026
This row uses independent Trustpilot listings, not manufacturer widgets. On-site stars are a different dataset. The award is score plus sample size, not vibes.
iRestore
3.6 / 5 from 1,092 reviews
Listing: trustpilot.com/review/irestorelaser.com. Pulled 1 September 2026. Direct HTML fetch returned HTTP 500 here, so score and count were confirmed from the live public listing. The sample is large, brand-wide, and mostly hair devices, not Apex-only. Ireland 3.9 / 509 and Australia 3.9 / 637 are not averaged in.
Mito Red Light
4.4 / 5 from 756 reviews
Listing: trustpilot.com/review/www.mitoredlight.com. Pulled 1 September 2026. Mito Red Light USA, not MITO LIGHT Europe. The ca.trustpilot 2.2 / 23 mirror is not mixed into 756. Direct HTML fetch can 403 or 500, so the score is the live result index.
Mito wins the reviews row. 4.4 beats 3.6. iRestore’s 1,092 is the larger sample, but a 0.8-point gap against 756 reviews is not a vibe call, and that listing is hair-heavy. Manufacturer on-site stars are not mixed in.
Edge: Mito on score plus a still-large sample. iRestore is not unreviewed. It is the lower-scoring, hair-heavy listing.
Spectrum and wavelength density: eight named bands versus a published 810 nm share
Count is not the story. Density is the share of diodes in each band. iRestore has not published Apex allocation. MitoPRO X has.
iRestore Apex: eight listed bands, unpublished mix
Both Apex Pro 1500 and Apex Elite 2160 list the same eight wavelengths. Elite adds more LEDs and individual control. It does not add a published mix table.
| Wavelength | Role (as commonly discussed) | Apex allocation | MitoPRO X allocation |
|---|---|---|---|
| 590 nm (amber) | Surface skin, tone-oriented sessions | Listed, share unpublished | 6% |
| 630 nm (red) | Surface skin, collagen | Listed, share unpublished | 22% |
| 660 nm (red) | Surface skin, collagen, hair | Listed, share unpublished | 22% |
| 670 nm | Red, ADAPT only | Not listed on Apex | Not on X. Even eighth on ADAPT |
| 810 nm (near infrared) | Deeper optical window, recovery literature | Listed, share unpublished | 17% |
| 830 nm (near infrared) | Muscle, joint, recovery-oriented sessions | Listed, share unpublished | 17% |
| 850 nm (near infrared) | Recovery-oriented sessions | Listed, share unpublished | 17% |
| 940 nm (near infrared) | Deeper tissue, listed by both brands on some SKUs | Listed, share unpublished | Not on X. Even eighth on ADAPT |
| 1060 nm (deep infrared) | Joints, deep tissue. Close to, not identical to, 1064 nm | Listed, share unpublished | None. No Mito panel lists 1060 or 1064 |
Concede the list. Apex includes 590, 940, and 1060 nm, which MitoPRO X does not, and it omits 480 nm blue. Those are real mix differences, not a density win, because LED share is unpublished. 1060 nm is not 1064 nm.
Mito: published 17 percent at 810 nm, and still no 1060 nm
MitoPRO X prints 6/22/22/17/17/17 including 17 percent at 810 nm, a published share Apex has not matched. MitoPRO+ has no 810 nm. The 2.0 series is 50/50 660 and 850 nm. ADAPT 4.0 splits eight circuits evenly, including 940 nm. Live products.json has no 1060 or 1064 nm Mito panel. Dual-chip is not a reason to dismiss the 17 percent table.
Edge: iRestore on named-band breadth, including 1060 nm, 940 nm, and 590 nm amber on both Apex sizes, with the honest limit that share is unpublished. Mito on published 17 percent at 810 nm and on a density table a buyer can actually check. Density beats count. 1060 nm is not 1064 nm. 940 nm is not 1064 nm either. MitoPRO+ does not list 810 nm.
Power and Irradiance: Measured by Independent Third Parties
Peak compares with peak. Average compares with average. A brand claim with no named instrument is not a spectrometer peak. Solar meters over-report LED output. This page does not convert one headline into the other.
iRestore Apex, unnamed-instrument brand figure. The brand states greater than 200 mW/cm² at about 6 inches (15 cm). The instrument is not named. That number does not sit next to LTI or Mito’s spectrometer twin. Do not import hair-helmet output here.
Mito, brand twins and independent spectrometer. Mito prints solar and spectrometer twins at six inches (example: 1500X, greater than 160 solar / greater than 73 spectrometer). LTI: 300X about 60 peak / 51.8 average; 1500+ about 87 / 76.5; ADAPT MAX about 74 / 58, all at 6 inches. There is no shared-lab peak-to-peak with Apex. Mito wins the independent-measurement row because a reader can compare those cells. Calling unnamed >200 stronger than 51.8 would mix instruments.
| Model | Brand irradiance | Independent spectrometer | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apex Pro 1500 / Elite 2160 | >200 mW/cm² at ~6 in, instrument not named | None named in public for these SKUs | Unnamed-instrument column only. Not mixed with LTI. |
| MitoPRO 300X | >130 solar / >56 spectrometer at 6 in | LTI peak ~60 / avg 51.8 at 6 in | Peak with peak. Average with average. |
| MitoPRO 1500+ | >170 solar / >68 spectrometer at 6 in | LTI peak ~87 / avg 76.5 at 6 in | PRO+ has no 810 nm. Different mix from X and from Apex. |
| MitoADAPT MAX 4.0 | >140 solar / >60 spectrometer at 6 in | LTI peak ~74 / avg 58 at 6 in | Closest live 36-inch-class Mito SKU to one Apex panel. |
| MitoPRO 1500X | >160 solar / >73 spectrometer at 6 in | No LTI 1500X cell cited here | Do not borrow the 1500+ LTI row for the X-series mix. |
iRestore’s Apex comparison chart prints Mito at “>170 mW/cm².” That is Mito’s solar-style headline, not the LTI average. Unnamed >200 stays in its own column. LTI stays in the spectrometer column.
Edge: Mito on a spectrometer twin and LTI numbers. Apex’s unnamed 6-inch figure stays in its own column. No power winner from mixed data. Transparency winner: Mito.
LED chips: unpublished 5W versus TruDUAL
Apex lists 5W LEDs and does not publish chip type. MitoPRO X and MitoADAPT run TruDUAL (two emitters per lens on separate circuits: 300X 60/120, 1500X 300/600). Dual-chip is a fact, not a smear. Chip count is not irradiance. Elite 2160 putting 432 LEDs on the same 36 x 12-inch face as Pro 1500’s 300 is a real count-per-footprint difference. It is still not a published wavelength mix.
Edge: Mito for published share on X and independent-circuit TruDUAL. iRestore for 432 versus 300 LEDs on the Elite face. Unpublished Apex chip type is unpublished, not a single-chip win.
Beam angle
Apex lists 30 degrees. Mito’s FAQ specifies 60 degrees. A tighter beam can put more intensity on a smaller patch. A wider beam can cover more skin at 6 to 12 inches. Coverage is beam plus panel width plus how many faces you hang.
Edge: Split by stance. iRestore for a closer 30-degree door-hook session. Mito for 60 degrees at a slightly more forgiving distance.
Coverage and what “full body” actually means
One Apex panel is 36 x 12 inches: seated torso height, not a 64-inch lie-under. Full-body Apex is a two-panel bundle (JSON Pro $2,997, Elite $4,797; studio kits $6,095 and $9,695). Labor Day theme: two Pro panels at $999 each. Door mount is in the single-panel price.
Tallest live single Mito panel is MitoPRO 1500X at 10 x 43 inches, $1,299. ADAPT MAX sits in the 36-inch class. Taller Mito coverage is a two-panel array (750X+1500X $1,948 or ADAPT MID+MAX $2,398) plus a sold-separately stand. MegaX is not a live X-series variant. Do not compare MitoMIN 2.0 to Apex Elite.
Half-body class, live 1 September 2026
| Device | LEDs / lenses | H x W | Panel price | Stand | Realistic total | Body coverage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Apex Pro 1500 | 300 LEDs | 36 x 12 in | JSON $1,299 (theme $1,099) | Door mount included. Floor JSON $159 / theme $119 | $1,299 door, or about $1,458 with floor stand at JSON | Half body, one face |
| Apex Elite 2160 | 432 LEDs | 36 x 12 in | JSON $2,199 (theme $1,599) | Door mount included. Same stand ladder | $2,199 door, or about $2,358 with floor stand at JSON | Half body, denser LED count on the same face |
| MitoPRO 1500X | 300 lenses / 600 chips | 10 x 43 in | $1,299 | $139 floor extra | $1,438 | Taller single column, still one face |
| MitoADAPT MAX 4.0 | 288 lenses / 576 chips | 12 x 36 in | $1,499 | $139 floor or $199 heavy-duty | $1,638 to $1,698 | 36-inch class, 8-band including 940 nm |
| MitoMEGA 2.0 | 300 LEDs | 36 x 12 in | $1,049 | $139 extra | $1,188 | Same outline as Apex, two bands, 2-year warranty |
MitoMEGA 2.0 shares a 36 x 12-inch outline with Apex at a lower sticker and a two-band mix. Apex Pro at JSON $1,299 matches 1500X and undercuts it on the Labor Day theme with a door mount already paid. 1500X is taller and publishes 17 percent at 810 nm.
Edge: iRestore if full body means two Apex panels and a door hook in the first SKU. Mito if it means a 43-inch 1500X or a two-panel array. Neither catalog sells a 65-inch single panel here.
Modes, pulsing, and control
Apex ships six smart modes, touchscreen, magnetic remote, app, dimming 0 to 100 percent, and pulsing 0 to 40 Hz. Elite 2160 adds individual wavelength control. Pro 1500 uses group control.
MitoADAPT 4.0 has 11 wavelength-combination modes. MitoPRO X uses a touchscreen and app. MitoPRO+ and 2.0 are timers. Buyers who want per-wavelength on/off on a 36-inch panel are shopping Elite 2160. Buyers who want 11 named ADAPT combinations are shopping MitoADAPT. Apex, X, and ADAPT are app-connected. Offline privacy is a funnel question, not a trophy here.
Edge: Elite 2160 for individual control and 0 to 40 Hz. MitoADAPT for 11 named modes and 940 nm. Do not buy 2.0 or PRO+ expecting Elite-style per-band control.
In the box, stands, and eyewear
Apex includes a door mount, blackout goggles, and the magnetic remote. VisionGuard glasses are $60 on JSON (theme $39). Floor / universal / motorized: JSON $159 / $399 / $899. The motorized stand holds two to four panels and is not in the single-panel crate.
MitoPRO X and MitoADAPT include opaque goggles plus IR3 glasses in the box. That is not stated for PRO+ and 2.0. Floor $139, ADAPT heavy-duty $199, universal $349 (manual). Door hardware varies by series.
Edge: iRestore on an included door mount and a motorized stand option. Mito on in-box IR3 glasses for X and ADAPT, and a cheaper floor stand.
Trial, restocking, and warranty
Both advertise 60 days with no restocking fee. Both ask the buyer to pay return shipping. Mito sells an optional paid returns add-on. iRestore’s Apex policy: no restock, RMA required, 20 percent only on refused shipments. Hair devices use 12 months. Do not mix clocks. iRestore’s chart claiming Mito charges 20 percent restock does not match Mito’s published policy.
Warranty is not a tie. Apex 1500 and 2160 are marketed with 10 years (launch copy on 1 September 2026 also called it a gift; register at irestorelaser.com/pages/body-warranty). Mito is 3 years on X, ADAPT, and PRO+, and 2 years on 2.0. The 10-year clock is the genuine Apex extra. It is not a reason to skip LTI, density, or reviews.
Edge: Tie on 60-day no-restock panel returns, buyer-paid freight. iRestore on the 10-year Apex warranty as currently marketed. Mito on a 3-year flagship term.
FDA: hair-laser clearance is not Apex panel clearance
Say this plainly. iRestore’s homepage title on 1 September 2026 is “FDA-Cleared At-Home Red Light Therapy Devices.” That clearance belongs to the hair lasers. Apex pages describe Class II listing and a 510(k)-exempt device. Home LED panels here are typically FDA-registered / 510(k)-exempt. Registration is a listing, not clearance. Helmets are FDA-cleared for hair. Those sentences are not interchangeable.
Mito panel copy uses “FDA Class II” and “medical-grade.” The MitoGLOW mask is cleared. The home panels are FDA-registered, not cleared. No home panel here holds a medical-grade performance class from FDA. ETL language on an Apex page is not a panel 510(k).
Edge: iRestore for a cleared hair helmet, which is not a panel win. Both Apex and Mito panels are FDA-registered, not cleared. Do not repeat homepage “FDA-Cleared” as if it attached to Apex or MitoPRO X.

Realistic JSON totals: Apex Pro with door hook $1,299; with floor stand about $1,458. 1500X plus $139 is $1,438. ADAPT MAX plus $139 is $1,638. On the Labor Day theme, Apex Pro $1,099 with door mount undercuts 1500X $1,299 before Mito’s stand. If the overlay ends, re-check JSON, not a second invented discount.
No iRestore or Mito code appears here. Launch-gift copy (10-year, Brain.FM, first-200) is overlay, not a permanent box list. TOP10 is 6 percent off current RLT Home live prices only.
Edge: Mito under about $500. iRestore on a door-mounted 8-band 36-inch panel that can land near $1,099 on the live overlay, plus a 10-year clock. Confirm both carts the morning you buy.
Who iRestore is for
Runner-up niche
Buy Apex when the job is a 10-year half-body panel with 1060 nm and a door hook already paid for
Buy Apex for eight named bands including 1060 nm, Elite individual control, 0 to 40 Hz pulsing, a door mount in the price, and a 10-year warranty as currently marketed. Accept unpublished LED share, an unnamed >200 mW/cm² headline, a hair-heavy 3.6 Trustpilot listing, and full-body coverage only as a two-panel bundle. Do not treat hair-helmet clearance as Apex panel clearance.
Who Mito Red Light is for
Overall winner in this pairing
Buy Mito when the job is published 810 nm share, a spectrometer trail, and a cheaper first panel
Buy Mito for 17 percent at 810 nm in writing, LTI numbers, Trustpilot 4.4 from 756, a $249 MIN 2.0 or $449 300X, optional 940 nm and 11 ADAPT modes, and a 60-day no-restock trial. Budget $139 for a stand. Do not buy MitoPRO+ expecting 810 nm. TruDUAL is construction. This catalog stops at 940 nm.
If you leave this two-brand pairing
A third catalog, only as a next step
This page does not crown RLT Home inside iRestore versus Mito. If the next question is a published seven-band mix with 1064 nm or a single 64-inch-class panel, that is a different comparison. Live RLT Home prices, 1 September 2026, code TOP10 at 6 percent off these figures only:
- RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI $495 (TOP10 $465)
- RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT $995 (TOP10 $935)
- RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX $1,595 (TOP10 $1,499)
- RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA $2,595 (TOP10 $2,439)
- RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE $4,495 (TOP10 $4,225)
TOP10 does not apply at irestorelaser.com or mitoredlight.com. Do not invent an iRestore or Mito affiliate code from this paragraph.
Do not collapse three brands into this trophy: Mito Red Light vs RLT Home and iRestore vs RLT Home each score one of these catalogs against the RLT Home Total Spectrum line. For each brand on its own, read the iRestore red light therapy review and the Mito Red Light review.

Verdict
Trophy
Winner Mito Red Light for most panel buyers in this pairing
Published 17 percent at 810 nm, LTI numbers, Trustpilot 4.4 from 756, $249 entry, 940 nm and 11 ADAPT modes, 60-day no-restock trial. Apex’s unnamed >200 mW/cm² claim was not allowed to steal this row.

Runner-up iRestore Apex for 10-year warranty, 1060 nm, and a door-mounted 8-band half-body
Ten years as currently marketed, eight named bands including 1060 nm, Elite control, door mount in the price. Labor Day theme can put Pro 1500 near $1,099. Unpublished density, unnamed irradiance, and a hair-heavy 3.6 listing keep it runner-up for most panel buyers.
Rows split. The overall line does not, for a typical first panel. Mito takes density in writing, LTI, reviews, entry price, and a size ladder. iRestore takes warranty length, 1060 nm, Elite control, and the included door hook. If those are the only rows that matter, buy Apex on purpose. Sessions may help a general wellness routine. Neither home panel is FDA-cleared. RLT Home is not the winner of this page.
FAQ
Are iRestore Apex panels FDA-cleared?
No. Apex panels are FDA-registered / 510(k)-exempt. Homepage “FDA-Cleared” refers to hair lasers. Mito panels are also registered, not cleared. MitoGLOW is a mask. No home panel here is FDA-approved.
Does Mito have 1060 nm or 1064 nm?
No. X stops at 850 nm. ADAPT adds 940 nm. Live products.json has no 1060 or 1064 nm Mito panel. Apex lists 1060 nm with unpublished share. 1060 nm is not 1064 nm.
Can Apex’s greater than 200 mW/cm² be compared with Mito’s LTI numbers?
No. Apex’s figure is a brand number at about 6 inches, instrument not named. LTI cells stay in the spectrometer column. Mixing them would fake a power winner.
Is dual-chip a reason to avoid Mito?
No. TruDUAL is two chips per lens on separate circuits. Apex lists 5W LEDs and does not publish chip type. Dual-chip is not a smear.
Which brand has the better public review listing?
Mito, 1 September 2026: 4.4 / 5 from 756 versus iRestore 3.6 / 5 from 1,092. Award is score plus sample. iRestore’s sample is larger and hair-heavy. On-site stars are not mixed in.
Who wins if I already want a 10-year panel warranty?
iRestore Apex, as currently marketed. Mito is 3 years on flagship lines and 2 years on 2.0. Warranty is one row, not the overall trophy.
Is there a discount code in this comparison?
No iRestore or Mito code is invented here. Apex showed a Labor Day theme overlay on 1 September 2026. Confirm at checkout. TOP10 is 6 percent off RLT Home only, funnel only.
