Red Light Therapy Top 10 · Brand comparison · September 2026
Mito vs Joovv
Medical review: All articles on Red Light Therapy Top 10 are reviewed for scientific accuracy and evidence-based relevance by our medical expert team. This page is wellness information, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. Home red light panels sold in the United States are FDA-registered. That is a listing, not FDA clearance. Sessions may help a general wellness routine. Neither brand is presented here as treating disease.
Mito is the size-ladder catalog: MitoPRO X from $449, published 17 percent at 810 nm, a 43-inch 1500X, and no 1064 nm. Joovv is the modular premium: Mini 3.0 at $1,099 through Elite 3.0 at $11,099, two wavelengths on purpose, and coverage that grows by chaining Solo modules. This page crowns one of those two brands, not a third.
Winner summary
Overall winner: Mito
Both sell US home panels with FDA-registered Class II language, a 60-day modular trial, Bluetooth apps on the flagship lines, and a separately sold stand on anything larger than a tabletop. Neither ships a 64-inch lie-under chassis, and neither lists 1064 nm. Full-body from Mito is usually two panels plus a rack. Full-body from Joovv is two, four, or six Solo modules on a door, wall, or mobile stand. Prices below are manufacturer stickers pulled 1 September 2026 from each brand’s products.json. No coupon is invented for either catalog. Code TOP10 is 6 percent off RLT Home only and appears only in the later funnel.
At-a-glance verdict: Mito for most buyers who want more bands, a published 810 nm share, a lower sticker, a longer warranty, and the stronger public Trustpilot listing. Joovv for buyers who already want to start with a Mini or Solo and add matching modules later, and who accept two wavelengths as the design.

The brands at a glance
Mito Red Light
The published-density size ladder, without 1064 nm
Mito Red Light has sold home panels since 2018. The 2026 story is a size ladder: MitoPRO X from $449, MitoADAPT 4.0 from $549, MitoPRO+ v2 from $369, and a 660/850 2.0 line from $249 with a two-year warranty.
Mito publishes per-band LED share on MitoPRO X: 17 percent at 810 nm and 0 percent at 1064 nm. That 810 nm slice is a real differentiator against Joovv’s two-band mix. The 1064 nm gap is also real. No live Mito panel lists 1064 nm. 940 nm on ADAPT is the deepest band in the catalog, not a substitute for a 1064 nm laser trial.
Joovv
The two-band modular premium
Joovv helped turn home red light into a consumer category. Generation 3.0 still sits at the center: a Mini and Solo that chain into Duo, Max, Quad, and Elite systems. Every modular device in that line emits two wavelengths, 660 nm red and 850 nm near-infrared.
The brand owns its design rules. It ships two wavelengths, not six. It sells coverage as stacked modules, not as one oversized chassis. A Quad is four Solos. An Elite is six. Live stickers run from Mini $1,099 through Elite $11,099. Stands are extra.
Spectrum and wavelength density: the most important difference
Joovv lists two wavelengths. MitoPRO X lists six. MitoADAPT lists eight. Count is not the whole story. Density is: the share of diodes, and therefore output, in each band. A six-wavelength panel that publishes 17 percent at 810 nm is a different bet from a two-wavelength panel that pours almost everything into 660 and 850 nm.
Mito: published 17 percent at 810 nm, and still no 1064 nm
Mito publishes a real per-band LED share on MitoPRO X: 6% at 590 nm, 22% at 630 nm, 22% at 660 nm, 17% at 810 nm, 17% at 830 nm, 17% at 850 nm. That is 17 percent at 810 nm and 0 percent at 1064 nm. Against Joovv’s empty 810 nm board, MitoPRO X is the denser 810 nm panel. Against a 1064 nm shopping list, both brands are empty.
MitoADAPT 4.0 publishes an even eight-band split (25% of the red group at each of 590 / 630 / 660 / 670, 25% of the NIR group at each of 810 / 830 / 850 / 940). 940 nm is the deepest Mito panel wavelength. It is not 1064 nm. MitoPRO+ skips 810 nm entirely (630/660/830/850 at 25% each). The 2.0 series is 660 plus 850 only, which is the one Mito line that matches Joovv’s band pair.
Joovv: 660 nm and 850 nm, on purpose
Joovv’s live science page names two bands: red at 660 nm for surface tissue and skin, and near-infrared at 850 nm for deeper support of recovery and circulation. The Generation 3.0 difference article repeats the same pair for Mini and Solo. There is no 630 nm, no 810 nm, no 830 nm, no 940 nm, and no 1064 nm on any Joovv device in the live 1 September 2026 JSON.
Joovv argues this is a feature. Extra nearby wavelengths, in that view, split LED count and weaken per-band density. Light Therapy Insiders, measuring a Solo 3.0 with a Hopoo Color OHSP-350F spectrometer, found the red peak at about 660.7 nm and the NIR peak a few nanometers above 850. Wavelength accuracy is not the fight. Density and band count are. Buyers who want 810 nm should read MitoPRO X’s 17 percent share rather than wait for Joovv to add those diodes.
Edge: Mito wins published 810 nm density (17% versus 0%) and the six- or eight-band lists. Joovv wins the two-band bet if 660 plus 850 is exactly what you want and you do not want the extra labels. Density still matters more than wavelength count. 1064 nm is a draw: neither brand has it.
Power and Irradiance: Measured by Independent Third Parties
Solar power meters over-read LED panels. Spectrometers measure optical power in a defined window. Peak compares with peak. Average compares with average. A 6-inch figure is not a 16-to-24-inch treatment distance. This section never mixes those families in one cell.
Mito publishes two 6-inch numbers, typically a 130 to 170 class figure next to a 56 to 74 class figure, with inconsistent labeling on the live compare tables. Independent Light Therapy Insiders sits with the lower band: 300X peak about 60 / avg about 51.8; 1500+ peak about 87 / avg about 76.5; ADAPT MAX peak about 74 / avg about 58.
Joovv tags every Generation 3.0 device irradiance_>100mW/cm² in the live JSON without naming the instrument or the distance on the product card. Light Therapy Insiders measured a Joovv Solo 3.0 with a Hopoo Color OHSP-350F spectrometer and published a peak of 72.4 mW/cm² and a 9-spot average of 59.2 mW/cm². Those are spectrometer figures. They sit below the raw “>100” tag. This page does not average them together or convert them into solar-meter units.
Peak to peak, spectrometer only, flagship-class panels in this pairing: MitoPRO 1500+ about 87 mW/cm² versus Joovv Solo 3.0 about 72.4. Average to average: about 76.5 versus 59.2. That flagship-class row belongs to Mito. It is not a reason to import a 170-class solar twin or a “>100” JSON tag into the same cell. Joovv’s own treatment guidelines (updated 8 May 2026) recommend about 10 minutes at 16 to 24 inches for a standard session. That distance is not six inches.
LED chip design
MitoPRO X and MitoADAPT use TruDUAL packages: two chips behind each lens, with independent circuits so red, near-infrared, or both can run. Do not count 600 chips on a 1500X as twice the panel. Lenses are 300. Chips are 600.
Joovv Generation 3.0 modular panels use a mixed red and NIR array. Light Therapy Insiders counted 150 LEDs on a Solo 3.0 as 76 red (660 nm) and 74 near-infrared (850 nm). The Go 2.0 handheld is the SKU Joovv describes as dual-chip, with both 660 nm and 850 nm in the same lens. Red and NIR can still run together or independently on the 3.0 panels.
Edge: Mito on independent red/NIR circuits behind each TruDUAL lens on X and ADAPT. Joovv on a two-band modular array with a dual-chip story reserved for the Go. Chip type is not a milliwatt ranking.
Beam angle
A narrower beam is more intense on-axis. A wider beam covers edges more easily and falls off faster with distance. Mito publishes a 60-degree beam across the panel series and calls it a sweet spot. Joovv does not publish a beam-angle tag on the live product JSON, so this page does not invent one.
Edge: Mito on a published 60-degree figure. Joovv on an unpublished angle. Intensity at a given distance still belongs in the spectrometer section, not in a beam-angle slogan.
Form factor and coverage
The live MitoPRO 1500X is 10 x 43 inches and 300 lenses. That is the tallest single panel in this pairing. MitoADAPT MAX and MitoPRO 1500+ sit in the 12 x 36 class. Head-to-toe in one position usually still means two panels plus a stand. Arrays increase coverage, not irradiance on one spot.
A Joovv Solo 3.0 is one 8.75 by 36 inch panel. A Duo is two of those Solos stacked, so it reaches 72 inches tall and stays 8.75 inches wide. A Quad is four Solos (17.5 x 72 in). An Elite is six Solos (26.25 x 72 in). Live product copy on joovv.com states those compositions in plain language. This page does not treat a Quad or an Elite as if it were a single 64-inch lie-under chassis.
| Mito | Size / LEDs | Closest Joovv | Size / LEDs |
|---|---|---|---|
| MitoPRO 300X ($449) / 300+ ($369) / MIN 2.0 ($249) | 9.5 x 14.5 / 10 x 12 / about 12 x 9 in | Mini 3.0 ($1,099) / Go 2.0 ($549) | 8.75 x 15 in / 3.75 x 5.75 in handheld |
| MitoPRO 750X ($749) / ADAPT MID ($999) | 10 x 23 / 12 x 27 in | No mid-height single Joovv panel between Mini and Solo | Jump is Mini 15 in to Solo 36 in |
| MitoADAPT MAX ($1,499) / 1500+ ($1,169) / MEGA 2.0 ($1,049) | 12 x 36 in class | Solo 3.0 ($1,699) | 8.75 x 36 in, 150 LEDs |
| MitoPRO 1500X ($1,299) | 10 x 43 in, 300 lenses / 600 chips | No 43-inch single Joovv panel | Half-Max 8.75 x 50.75 in is Solo + Mini, two modules |
| 750X + 1500X array ($1,948) | 10 x 66 in stacked | Duo 3.0 ($3,699) | 8.75 x 72 in, two Solos |
| 2x 750X and 1500X ($3,696) | 20 x 66 in | Quad $7,399 / Elite $11,099 | 17.5 x 72 / 26.25 x 72 in, four or six Solos |
Edge: Mito for the tallest live single panel (43-inch 1500X) and the cheaper size ladder. Joovv for the widest live system (Elite, 26.25 inches) and for adding matching modules later. Neither brand sells a 64-inch single chassis.
Treatment modes, app, and privacy
MitoPRO+ and the 2.0 series: three modes, timer, no app. MitoPRO X: three onboard modes plus an app with NIR Extend. MitoADAPT 4.0: eleven named combinations from eight independent circuits. Bluetooth on X and ADAPT can be switched off. Live FAQs say there is no Wi-Fi radio.
Joovv on-panel controls handle power, timer, red / NIR / both, and Recovery+. The Joovv app adds Ambient mode, session tracking, reminders, multi-device pairing, and a wake-style alarm. Ambient and some extras are app-only. Recovery+ pulses NIR at a fixed 10 Hz and leaves red continuous. That pulse is a Joovv mode, not a clinical protocol.
Edge: Mito on 11 ADAPT combinations, and on the no-app PRO+ / 2.0 corner. Joovv on Recovery+ 10 Hz, Ambient, and multi-module pairing. Privacy-minded buyers who still want Mito can stay on those no-app panels. Every Joovv 3.0 panel expects the app for the extras.

User reviews
Public reviews are scored from independent Trustpilot listings pulled 1 September 2026. Manufacturer on-site stars (Mito Okendo-style around 4.7, Joovv product-page testimonials) are a different dataset and are not mixed in.
Trustpilot · Mito Red Light
4.4 / 5
The 756-review sample is large. Praise centers on build, packaging, and shipping. Complaints center on mixed support, damaged first units, and stands.
Trustpilot · Joovv
1.6 / 5
Seventy-four reviews is a usable sample, not a thin one. The score is poor. Public themes cluster around customer service, signature-required shipping, and return friction. On-site Joovv testimonials are not Trustpilot.
User reviews go to Mito: 4.4 from 756 versus 1.6 from 74. Score and sample size both point the same way. On-site stars stay off this row.
Edge: Mito on public Trustpilot score and sample size. Joovv’s 1.6 from 74 is not a rounding error.
Trial, returns, and warranty
Mito: 60 days, no restocking fee on the live pages, customer-paid return freight unless the optional paid returns add-on was bought at checkout. Flagship warranty is three years. The 2.0 series is two years. Free standard shipping on US orders (lower 48).
Joovv modular Generation 3.0: 60 days from receipt, complete kits, original packaging, like-new. No flat restocking fee on modular devices. Original outbound shipping is non-refundable. Return shipping is the customer’s cost. Freight-in must go freight-out. Go 2.0 is 30 days with a $50 restock if opened. Accessories have 14 days. Warranty is 2 years on modular devices and 1 year on the Go.
Edge: Mito on restocking fee (none, and original shipping is not carved out the same way) and on the three-year flagship warranty. Joovv matches the 60-day window on modular panels but keeps original shipping and puts freight-out on the buyer. A Quad or Elite return is a pallet, not a door-hook box.
A note on FDA
Every home red light panel sold in the United States is FDA-registered, a listing not clearance. Both brands use Class II wording for that same listing. Mito markets MitoPRO X and MitoADAPT as medical-grade and FDA Class II registered. The MitoGLOW mask is the adjacent FDA-cleared Mito device, not a body panel. Joovv’s 11 April 2026 article is direct: FDA registration does not evaluate or certify device safety, performance, or engineering quality. Intertek IEC 60601 certification is a separate testing path, not a unique FDA performance class.
Pricing: an apples-to-apples comparison
Live prices, 1 September 2026 from each brand’s products.json. MitoPRO X: 300X $449, 750X $749, 1500X $1,299; 750X and 1500X array $1,948. MitoADAPT 4.0 from $549. MitoPRO+ v2 from $369. MitoMIN 2.0 $249. Floor stand $139. Universal $349. Joovv: Mini 3.0 $1,099, Solo 3.0 $1,699, Duo 3.0 $3,699, Half-Max $2,999, Max $5,999, Quad $7,399, Elite $11,099, Go 2.0 $549. Boot Floor Stand $200. Mini Stand $250. No coupon on either brand.
Both brands sell stands separately on full-size panels. Totals below add the stand each setup needs. Two panels add coverage, not irradiance on one spot.
Tier 1: Tabletop
| Item | MitoPRO 300X | Joovv Mini 3.0 |
|---|---|---|
| LEDs / lenses | 60 lenses / 120 chips | 60 (commonly cited; not tagged in JSON) |
| Panel dimensions | 9.5 x 14.5 in | 8.75 x 15 in |
| Panel price | $449 | $1,099 |
| Stand | Tabletop included | Mini Stand $250 extra, or Boot Floor Stand $200 |
| Realistic total | $449 | $1,299 to $1,349 |
| Body coverage | Face, desk, small target | Face, desk, small target |
| Spectrum | 6-band, 17% at 810 nm, no 1064 nm | 2-band, 660 + 850 nm |
Mito wins the entry sticker by a wide margin. A MitoPRO 300+ at $369 or a MitoMIN 2.0 at $249 sit even lower, with fewer bands. The Mini is the Joovv building block, not a value tabletop. Buyers who want Joovv’s module so they can add Solos later are paying for that path.
Tier 2: Tall single panel
| Item | MitoPRO 1500X | Joovv Solo 3.0 |
|---|---|---|
| LEDs / lenses | 300 lenses / 600 chips | 150 (JSON leds_150) |
| Panel dimensions | 10 x 43 in | 8.75 x 36 in |
| Panel price | $1,299 | $1,699 |
| Stand | Floor stand $139 | Boot Floor Stand $200 |
| Realistic total | $1,438 | $1,899 |
| Body coverage | 43-inch class, still shift or add a 750X for head-to-toe | 36-inch class, 8.75 in wide. Add a second Solo to make a Duo |
| Independent spectrometer | 1500+ class about 87 peak / 76.5 avg. No separate 1500X LTI cell on this page | Solo 3.0 about 72.4 peak / 59.2 avg at 6 in |
The 1500X is taller, wider in lens count, and $400 cheaper before a stand. The Solo is the module everything else is built from. ADAPT MAX plus stand is $1,638. A 1500+ plus stand is $1,308.
Tier 3: Two-panel / two-module path
| Item | Mito 750X + 1500X | Joovv Duo 3.0 |
|---|---|---|
| What it actually is | One 23-inch plus one 43-inch panel | Two Solo modules chained |
| Live combo price | $1,948 | $3,699 |
| Stand for a usable hang | Universal vertical or horizontal $349 (manual) | Boot Floor Stand $200, or a door/wall kit |
| Realistic total | $2,297 | $3,899 with boot stand |
| Coverage | About 66 in tall, 10 in wide | 72 in tall, still 8.75 in wide |
The Duo is taller and still a strip. Width on Joovv arrives when two columns sit side by side, which is the Max ($5,999) and Quad ($7,399) path. ADAPT MID + MAX is $2,398 plus $199 or $349.
Tier 4: Wide full-body path
| Item | Mito 2x 750X and 1500X | Joovv Quad 3.0 / Elite 3.0 |
|---|---|---|
| What it actually is | Four X panels, about 20 x 66 in | Four Solos (Quad) or six Solos (Elite) |
| Live price | $3,696 | Quad $7,399. Elite $11,099 |
| Stand | Universal $349 (manual, 2-panel rated). Four-panel hangs need a plan | Door, wall, or mobile stand extra. Elite JSON tags setup_stand and setup_wall |
| Coverage | About 20 in wide, 66 in tall | Quad 17.5 x 72 in. Elite 26.25 x 72 in |
Joovv wins width at Elite. Mito wins the sticker by thousands of dollars. A Quad is four modules, not one 72-inch slab. An Elite is six. Budget the mount and the freight either way.
Edge: Mito on sticker at every comparable height until you specifically need Joovv’s 26-inch Elite wall. Joovv on modular expansion and on the widest live system in this pairing.
Who should choose Mito?
A reasonable fit
Buyers who already want this design
- Want a lower entry sticker: $249 MitoMIN 2.0, $369 MitoPRO 300+, or $449 MitoPRO 300X, with a tabletop in those small boxes.
- Want published 17 percent at 810 nm on MitoPRO X, and do not need 1064 nm on the chassis.
- Want the tallest live single panel in this pairing (MitoPRO 1500X, 43 inches) or 11 ADAPT modes including 940 nm.
- Want a 60-day trial with no restocking fee, a three-year flagship warranty, and will still budget return freight.
- Want a no-app timer (PRO+ or 2.0) or a Bluetooth app they can switch off (X and ADAPT).
- Want the larger independent Trustpilot sample (4.4 from 756 reviews versus 1.6 from 74).
- Want two-panel math near $2,297 with a $349 universal stand, and accept TruDUAL plus a 60-degree beam.
Who should choose Joovv?
The genuine runner-up niche
Buyers who already want this design
- Want to start with a Mini or Solo and add matching modules later, and accept that Duo, Quad, and Elite are stacks of those modules.
- Want a two-band 660 nm plus 850 nm catalog on purpose, and are not shopping for 810, 830, or 1064 nm.
- Want the Joovv app, Recovery+ 10 Hz NIR pulse, Ambient mode, and Bluetooth pairing across a multi-module wall.
- Want Intertek IEC 60601 medical-electrical certification and Joovv’s Class II double-insulated cord story, and understand that is not FDA clearance.
- Want the widest live system in this pairing (Elite, 26.25 x 72 in) and will pay $11,099 plus a mount for it.
- Want a $549 dual-chip handheld (Go 2.0) as a travel add-on, and will pay $150 for the dock if hands-free charging matters.
- Are fine paying return freight on a 60-day modular trial, with original shipping kept by Joovv, and a 2-year warranty.
If you are still comparing a third catalog
This page is Mito versus Joovv. It does not auto-crown a third brand. Buyers who want published 14 percent at 1064 nm, a 64-inch lie-under chassis, or a motorized stand in the box should use the versus pages below. Code TOP10 is 6 percent off RLT Home only, never a Mito or Joovv offer.

Choose Mito if you want six bands with 17% at 810 nm, a $449 starting X panel, a 43-inch 1500X, 11 ADAPT modes, a three-year flagship warranty, and a 60-day trial with no restocking fee. You are accepting no 1064 nm, dual-chip packages, a 60-degree beam, and a manual stand. Budget $139 to $349 for that stand.
🥈 Runner-up, Joovv
For modular expansion and the two-band wall
Choose Joovv if starting with a Mini at $1,099 or a Solo at $1,699 and adding matching modules later is the actual requirement, and you want Recovery+, the app, and a path to a 26-inch Elite. You are accepting two wavelengths, a 2-year warranty, customer-paid return freight with original shipping kept, and a 1.6 Trustpilot score from 74 reviews. That is a real niche, not a consolation prize.
Frequently asked questions
Does Mito or Joovv have 1064 nm?
No. Verified against the live 1 September 2026 mitoredlight.com/products.json and joovv.com/products.json catalogs. MitoPRO X stops at 850 nm. MitoADAPT 4.0 reaches 940 nm. Joovv 3.0 panels are 660 nm plus 850 nm. 940 nm is the deepest band in the Mito lineup. Joovv’s deepest band is 850 nm. Neither lists 1064 nm.
Is a MitoPRO 1500X or a Joovv Elite a full-body panel?
Not as a 64-inch lie-under chassis. 1500X is 10 x 43 inches. Elite is six Solo modules, 26.25 x 72 inches, $11,099 before a stand. Mito’s live 750X plus 1500X array is $1,948 before a $349 universal stand. Two panels add coverage, not irradiance on one spot.
Which brand has more 810 nm?
MitoPRO X publishes 17% at 810 nm. Joovv publishes 0%. That 810 nm density row belongs to Mito. The two-band 660/850 row belongs to Joovv by design.
Can solar-meter figures be compared with spectrometer data?
No. Mito 130 to 170 class twins and Joovv’s >100 mW/cm² JSON tag sit in a different instrument family than LTI spectrometer peaks. Peak compares with peak. This page uses LTI peaks of about 87 on a MitoPRO 1500+ versus about 72.4 on a Joovv Solo 3.0. It does not mix solar-meter headlines into that cell.
Do stands come in the box?
Mito: tabletop yes on 300X, 300+, and ADAPT MIN. Floor stands $139. Universal $349, manual, not motorized. Joovv: no stand at the panel stickers. Boot Floor Stand 3.0 is $200. Mini Stand 3.0 is $250. A photo of a Solo in a boot stand is not proof the stand is free.
Which trial is easier to use?
Mito: 60 days, no restocking fee, customer-paid return freight unless a paid add-on was bought. Joovv modular: 60 days, no flat restock, original shipping kept, customer-paid freight, freight-out on freight-in kits. Go 2.0 is 30 days with a $50 restock if opened. Flagship warranty is three years on Mito and two years on Joovv modular.
Are these FDA-cleared medical-grade panels?
No. Both are FDA-registered home panels. Registration is a listing, not clearance, and not a unique medical-grade class. Both brands use Class II language. The MitoGLOW mask is the adjacent FDA-cleared Mito device and is not a body panel. Joovv points to Intertek IEC 60601 as a separate electrical-safety path.
What is the live Trustpilot score for each brand?
Mito Red Light: 4.4 / 5 from 756 reviews at trustpilot.com/review/www.mitoredlight.com. Joovv: 1.6 / 5 from 74 reviews at trustpilot.com/review/www.joovv.com. Both checked 1 September 2026. On-site shop stars are not mixed into those figures. Mito wins the user-reviews row on score and sample size.
Is there a Mito or Joovv discount code on this page?
No. Prices are live manufacturer stickers from 1 September 2026. This comparison does not invent a coupon for either brand. Code TOP10 is 6% off RLT Home only and is mentioned only in the funnel to those versus pages, never as a Mito or Joovv offer.
Where should someone go after this pairing?
To the live Mito vs RLT Home page at /mito-red-light-vs-rlt-home/, the live Joovv vs RLT Home page at /joovv-vs-rlt-home/, or the 16-brand ranking. This article is Mito versus Joovv. It does not silently crown a third brand as the overall winner of this page.
Bottom line
Mito vs Joovv is a published-density size ladder with no 1064 nm against a two-band modular premium. Peaks, price, warranty, trial restock, 810 nm share, the 43-inch panel, and Trustpilot favor Mito. Modular expansion, Recovery+, IEC 60601 language, and the 26-inch Elite wall favor Joovv. Overall winner: Mito. Runner-up niche: Joovv.
