EMR-Tek is the Toronto COB specialist: chip-on-board modules, Meanwell industrial drivers, a 0% flicker claim on the Pro line, and stacked Inferno and Krypton towers. RLT Home is the seven-band Total Spectrum line (480, 630, 660, 810, 830, 850, 1064 nm) with six-inch spectrometer peaks, nine science-built modes, a free personalised weekly plan, and in-stock full-body panels that already include a stand. These are not size clones. A $599.99 Firedragon does not cover a body the way RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX does, and an Inferno still needs a $599.99 floor stand that RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX already ships in the box.

🏆 Winner RLT Home for most buyers. 🥈 Runner up EMR-Tek for high-irradiance COB panels with industrial Meanwell drivers and modular towers.

This is not a size-clone fight. EMR-Tek’s live 1 September 2026 catalog is a COB and hybrid COB-plus-SMD family: Firedragon at 30 x 30 cm, Inferno at 86.5 x 30 cm, Firestorm as a half-body hybrid, then stacked Inferno Pro and Krypton 1612 towers. RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, MAX, ULTRA, and ELITE run from a 72-LED tabletop to a 65-inch lie-under panel, all in stock, all with a stand already in the SKU. Prices were pulled 1 September 2026 from emr-tek.com/products.json and redlighttherapyhome.com/products.json. RLT Home fits most buyers who want a seven-band mix, a 60-day trial after power-on, and a stand that does not add $600. EMR-Tek is the runner-up for COB output, Meanwell drivers, and modular towers.

The brands at a glance

EMR-Tek

The COB, Meanwell, modular-tower specialist

EMR-Tek Firedragon COB red and near-infrared light therapy panel on its included stand
EMR-Tek Firedragon, the 30 x 30 cm COB panel with an adjustable stand in the box. Live price $599.99 on 1 September 2026.

EMR-Tek is a Toronto brand, selling since about 2016, built around concentrated COB output plus SMD fill on the larger SKUs. Meanwell industrial drivers are the Pro-series talking point, with a 0% flicker claim and no detectable magnetic field at 12 inches. COB and LED arrays switch independently. There are no named therapy presets. Live stickers: Firedragon $599.99, Firestorm $999.99, Inferno $1,199.99, Firestorm Pro $1,199.99, Inferno Pro $1,379.99, Inferno Floor Stand $599.99, Inferno Pro Tower $2,499.99, Krypton 1612 Tower $6,999.99. Firedragon includes a stand. Larger panels do not. Warranty is two years. Trial is 30 days unused. Marketed as general wellness, not FDA-registered.

RLT Home

Published density, seven bands, usage plan

RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE 864 LED flagship red light therapy panel
RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE, the 65 x 20.5-inch, 864-LED flagship.

RLT Home’s line is RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, MAX, ULTRA, and ELITE. The brand publishes LED share for seven wavelengths, including 480 nm at 6% and 1064 nm at 14%. Nine prebuilt modes come from the Heiskanen photobiomodulation database (1,861 successful human trials), plus a free personalised weekly plan. Devices stay offline. Spectrometer peaks are published at six inches for every model. Stands ship in the box, motorized on ULTRA and ELITE. Trial: 60 days, free insured returns. Warranty: three years. Live pages list ≈0.0 μT EMF at 6 inches (Cornet) and flicker as “None”. This page does not invent a 0-inch milligauss figure.

Spectrum and wavelength density: different jobs, different mixes

EMR-Tek does not run one mix across the line. RLT Home does, with a small ULTRA variant. Density, the share of LEDs in each band, is the story. EMR-Tek also sells a six-wavelength Firedragon and a UV-plus-red Krypton family that RLT Home does not clone.

EMR-Tek Inferno and Firestorm: three named bands

Inferno, Inferno Pro, Firestorm, and Firestorm Pro list 630, 670, and 830 nm on the brand pack and on most product copy. The Inferno Pro Tower bundle page also names 660 nm red with 830 nm near-infrared. Wavelength allocation, the share of output in each band, is not published. That is a real gap next to RLT Home’s percentage table. Three named peaks can still be a focused red-plus-NIR panel. They are not a seven-band mix, and they do not include 480 nm or 1064 nm.

EMR-Tek Inferno hybrid COB and SMD red light therapy panel
EMR-Tek Inferno, the 86.5 x 30 cm hybrid COB plus 132-SMD near full-body panel. Live price $1,199.99. Floor stand is a separate $599.99 SKU.

EMR-Tek Firedragon: six wavelengths in a 30 cm square

Firedragon is the EMR-Tek mix that comes closest to a broad red-plus-NIR spread: 630, 660, 670 nm red and 810, 830, 850 nm near-infrared. That is six bands, still no 480 nm and no 1064 nm, and still no published percentage split. It is a genuine EMR-Tek niche RLT Home does not clone: a square COB with 670 nm and 810 nm in the same chassis, stand included, at $599.99. RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI is the size neighbour, not the spectrum clone.

RLT Home Total Spectrum: seven bands, published percentages

Every Total Spectrum panel lists 480, 630, 660, 810, 830, 850, and 1064 nm. RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, and MAX share one density table: 6 / 19 / 19 / 19 / 14 / 9 / 14 percent. RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA is slightly different (5 / 20 / 20 / 20 / 13 / 8 / 14). RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE live copy keeps the MINI table. Combined 810 plus 1064 is 33 percent on the three smaller panels and 34 percent on ULTRA. There is no 590 nm amber and no 670 nm listed.

Edge: EMR-Tek for a six-wavelength Firedragon that includes 670 nm and 810 nm in a square COB, and for a three-band Inferno that puts 830 nm behind five COB modules. RLT Home for a published seven-band table that includes 480 nm and 1064 nm on every Total Spectrum panel.

Power and Irradiance: Measured by Independent Third Parties

Compare peak to peak, or average to average. Do not mix a 0-inch panel-face number with a 6-inch spectrometer peak. Method and distance travel with every figure.

EMR-Tek, Light Labs International (named on the Firedragon Pro page). The brand says an independent lab, Light Labs International, tested a 200W COB Inferno at 138.39 mW/cm² at 6 inches and 67.22 mW/cm² at 12 inches, and that the Firedragon Pro 288W chip runs slightly above those figures. The Inferno product copy also states 200 mW/cm² at 6 inches and more than 70 at 12 inches without naming the instrument. Firewave quotes 1400 at panel face (0 inches). Those three statements are not the same measurement. This page uses the named lab pair at 6 and 12 inches for the peak-to-peak row and flags the 0-inch Firewave number as a different method.

RLT Home, Electropossible Ltd, HP350IR spectrometer (550-1100 nm). The brand calls this the most accurate consumer-facing table. Figures below are spectrometer peaks at 6 inches. Peaks are not averages. Solar-meter figures exist on the same pages and are a different instrument. Do not mix them with EMR-Tek’s Light Labs pair.

Panel Independent 6-inch figure Lab / method as published
EMR-Tek 200W COB Inferno (Firedragon Pro page)138.39 mW/cm² peakLight Labs International, 6 in. 67.22 mW/cm² at 12 in

RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX100.53 mW/cm² peakElectropossible HP350IR, 6 in
RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA119.28 mW/cm² peakElectropossible HP350IR, 6 in. LightLab also tested this size
RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE121.62 mW/cm² peakElectropossible HP350IR, 6 in

On a named-lab 6-inch peak, EMR-Tek’s 138.39 mW/cm² for the 200W COB Inferno sits above RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE at 121.62 mW/cm². Those are still two labs, two source types, and two geometries. The unnamed 200 mW/cm² Inferno copy is not treated here as a spectrometer peak. The 1400 panel-face Firewave number is not a 6-inch figure.

Edge: EMR-Tek on the named Light Labs 6-inch COB peak (138.39 vs 121.62) and on concentrated COB output at a 30-degree cone. RLT Home on a spectrometer peak published for every model in the line, including the 64-inch and 65-inch chassis, with the lab and the instrument named.

EMF and flicker: published claims only

EMR-Tek’s Pro series copy is the 0% flicker, Meanwell driver, no-detectable-magnetic-field story, measured at the 12-inch session distance. The brand is explicit that an AC-powered wall device cannot fully eliminate an electric field, and that the field drops below detectable at 12 inches. Original Firedragon is listed as low flicker and low EMF, not as 0%. There is no milligauss or V/m table on the live pages this review used.

RLT Home lists ≈0.0 μT at 6 inches on a Cornet meter and flicker as “None”. That is a 6-inch magnetic-field figure, not a 0-inch contact figure, and it is not a flicker percentage. This page does not invent a 0-inch milligauss number for RLT Home or a flicker percentage for either brand beyond what each publishes.

Edge: EMR-Tek on a named 0% flicker claim tied to Meanwell drivers on the Pro series. RLT Home on a published 6-inch Cornet figure. Different distances, different units, both thinner than a full EMF table.

Chips: COB modules versus discrete 5W LEDs

This is the genuine EMR-Tek niche. Chip-on-board packs many diode junctions onto one substrate so the light comes from a concentrated source instead of a grid. Inferno Pro uses five 200W COB modules on the vertical midline plus 132 x 3W SMD LEDs as fill. Firestorm Pro uses five COBs with 64 diodes each (320 total). Firedragon is a single COB (original 504 W claimed output; Pro is a 288W chip in current copy). Beam on Inferno is listed at 30 degrees. COB and SMD arrays switch independently.

RLT Home uses discrete 5W single-chip LEDs across RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI (72), COMPACT (216), MAX (360), ULTRA (480), and ELITE (864). Coverage is a filled rectangle, not a COB midline plus fill. That is a more even field at typical 6-inch distances, and it is how the brand publishes density percentages. It is not a COB. If you specifically want concentrated chip-on-board output and industrial Meanwell drivers, EMR-Tek is the catalog that sells that architecture. If you want a published seven-band grid you can lie under, RLT Home is the catalog that sells that.

Edge: EMR-Tek on COB architecture, independent COB/LED switching, and Meanwell Pro drivers. RLT Home on a discrete 5W grid with published per-band LED share.

Coverage: square COB, 34-inch Inferno, stacked towers versus a 12-to-65-inch ladder

Firedragon is about 11.8 inches square. Inferno and Inferno Pro are about 34.1 x 11.8 inches. Firestorm does not publish height and width. Full-body in the EMR-Tek catalog is two Inferno Pros stacked, or two Krypton 1612s. RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI is 11.8 x 11.4 inches, COMPACT 30.3 x 11.8, MAX 49.2 x 11.8, ULTRA 64.3 x 11.8, ELITE 65 x 20.5.

RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX 49 inch mid-tall red light therapy panel
RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX, the 49.2-inch mid-tall panel. EMR-Tek Inferno is about 34 inches and needs a $599.99 floor stand for a standing session.

Inferno versus RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX is the closest body-panel pairing, and it is still not a clone: Inferno is about 15 inches shorter, and a standing total with the $599.99 floor stand is $1,799.98 against $1,499 for MAX with TOP10. The Inferno Pro Tower at $2,499.99 is two panels and a rolling stand. RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA at $2,439 with TOP10 is one 64.3-inch chassis and a motorized stand.

RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA 480 LED 64 inch full-body red light therapy panel
RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA, the 64.3-inch, 480-LED full-body panel. EMR-Tek’s full-body answer is a stacked two-panel tower, not a single 64-inch chassis.

Edge: RLT Home for in-stock coverage from 12 inches to 65 inches, including unmatched 30-inch COMPACT, 49-inch MAX, 64-inch ULTRA, and 65-inch ELITE, each with a stand in the live SKU. EMR-Tek for a square COB with stand at $599.99, and for modular towers if you specifically want to stack two Inferno Pros.

Treatment modes and personalised guidance

EMR-Tek runs COB, LED, or both, plus an LCD timer on Firedragon. There are no named Skin, Sleep, or Pain presets and no weekly plan. That is a hardware-first control scheme. RLT Home Total Spectrum panels include nine prebuilt modes plus custom (Full Power, Skin and Anti-Aging, Pain and Inflammation, Fat Burn and Weight Loss, Mental Health and Brain, Sleep, Acne, Hair Growth, Wound Healing), pulsing 0 to 5000 Hz, and a free personalised weekly plan. Those modes may help people who want a starting protocol instead of a three-way COB/LED switch. They are not medical treatments.

Edge: RLT Home on mode count plus the automatic personalised plan. EMR-Tek on independent COB and LED switching for buyers who want to run the concentrated module, the fill array, or both.

What’s in the box

Firedragon includes an adjustable stainless stand. Inferno, Inferno Pro, Firestorm, and Firestorm Pro do not include a floor stand in the live SKU. Inferno Floor Stand is $599.99. Heavy Duty Stand is $799.99. Light Stand is $499.99. Electronic Premium Stand is $1,199.99. The Inferno Pro Tower bundle is the exception: two Inferno Pros plus the rolling stand at $2,499.99. Blackout goggles ship with every EMR-Tek panel. The FAQ says goggles are required every session because 830 nm is invisible and reaches the retina.

RLT Home includes a stand on every model, motorized electric on RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA and ELITE. The only extra stand SKU is the $495 electric option for RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT and MAX. Two sets of eyewear plus a free personalised weekly plan ship in every panel box. Door kit is in the smaller boxes.

Edge: RLT Home on stands across the line, two sets of eyewear, and the usage plan. EMR-Tek on goggles in every panel box and on a stand already in the Firedragon SKU. The Inferno and Firestorm stand gap is a real extra $500 to $800.

User reviews

Public reviews are a ranking criterion on this page, scored from independent Trustpilot listings rather than manufacturer star widgets. On-site shop ratings are not mixed in, because they are a different dataset.

As of 1 September 2026, EMR-Tek is 4.2 / 5 from 487 reviews on Trustpilot (www.trustpilot.com/review/emr-tek.com). RLT Home is 4.6 / 5 from 243 reviews (www.trustpilot.com/review/redlighttherapyhome.com). RLT Home wins the score. EMR-Tek wins sample size. Four hundred eighty-seven reviews is a large sample, not a thin one. Two hundred forty-three is also a real sample. RLT Home does not automatically win user reviews. The score still sits 0.4 points higher at 4.6 versus 4.2.

Trustpilot’s own summary of EMR-Tek praises product quality and construction, then flags order delays, missing items, and slow or missing replies on a portion of reviews. The company listing shows replies to 95% of negative reviews. That is a service pattern, not a lab result. RLT Home comments on the same date cluster on panel quality, recovery, and support, with some notes on logistics that the company typically addresses. Those are owner comments, not spectrometer data.

Edge: RLT Home on Trustpilot score (4.6 / 243). EMR-Tek on Trustpilot sample size (4.2 / 487). Score plus sample size, not vibes.

Trial, returns, and warranty

RLT Home: 60 days, no restocking fee, free insured return shipping, three-year warranty. You can power the panel on, use it, and still send it back. EMR-Tek: 30 days, no restocking fee stated, returns only unused in original packaging. A device that has been powered on is not returnable, with case-by-case exceptions by email. Warranty is two years on the live Inferno Pro Tower and Krypton Tower copy. Free shipping over $89.99. The unused-only rule is the practical difference. A 30-day trial you cannot test is a restocking window, not a use-it trial.

Edge: RLT Home on trial length, the right to use the panel during the trial, free return shipping, and warranty length (3 years vs 2 years).

A note on FDA

FDA-registered, on a home panel, is a listing, not clearance, and not a medical-grade performance class. RLT Home holds that listing. EMR-Tek is marketed as general wellness / low-risk and is not registered or cleared. That is a paperwork difference, not a claim that RLT Home treats disease. EMR-Tek’s Krypton UV systems are a separate IEC 62471 Risk Group 3 topic and are not treated here as equivalent to a red/NIR Total Spectrum panel.

Pricing: an apples-to-apples comparison

Prices below are manufacturer selling prices pulled 1 September 2026 from redlighttherapyhome.com/products.json and emr-tek.com/products.json. The only discount code used here is TOP10, 6% off RLT Home only, rounded to the nearest dollar. There is no EMR-Tek discount code in this article. TOP10: MINI $465, COMPACT $935, MAX $1,499, ULTRA $2,439, ELITE $4,225.

Compare equivalent size. Do not pretend a $599.99 Firedragon covers a body like RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX. Do not omit the Inferno Floor Stand when you price a standing Inferno session.

Panel stickers are within $5 of RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT before TOP10. After TOP10, COMPACT is $935. After a stand, Firestorm is $1,500 to $1,800. That stand line is the row. Firestorm Pro at $1,199.99 is the Meanwell, 0% flicker, 320-diode version of the same job, still without a stand in the SKU.

Inferno wins the panel-only sticker at $1,199.99 versus $1,595. Add the rolling stand EMR-Tek sells for standing use and the total is $1,799.98, $300 above RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX before TOP10 and $301 above it after TOP10. Inferno is also 15 inches shorter. Pegs may be enough if you never want wheels. The floor stand is what the brand sells for a stacked or rolling setup, and it is what a realistic standing total should include if you were comparing against a MAX that already ships a stand.

Body coverageHead to toe as two stacked near-full-body panelsSingle 64.3-inch lie-under / stand-in-front chassis

This is the closest full-body money row. Inferno Pro Tower is $2,499.99 for two panels and a rolling stand. RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA is $2,595, or $2,439 with TOP10, for one 64.3-inch panel and a motorized stand. TOP10 puts ULTRA $61 under the tower. The jobs still differ: stacked COB midlines versus a single discrete-LED rectangle you can lie under. EMR-Tek’s bundle copy is explicit that a single Inferno Pro is near full-body and that two stacked is the version with no “near” in it.

Tier 5: Flagship, EMR-Tek Krypton 1612 Tower vs RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE

Body coverageFull-spectrum tower including UV. IEC 62471 Risk Group 3 on the UV systemWide 65-inch red/NIR lie-under. No UV

This is not an apples-to-apples red panel. Krypton adds Philips UVA and 311 nm narrowband UVB. That is a different product class, a different safety protocol, and a $6,999.99 tower against RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE at $4,495 ($4,225 with TOP10). If you came to this page for red and near-infrared only, ELITE is the flagship that stays in that job. If you specifically want a UV-plus-red tower, EMR-Tek is the catalog that sells it, and RLT Home does not clone it.

Who should choose RLT Home?

Best fit

The verdict: winner and runner up

RLT Home takes the overall win for most buyers. EMR-Tek earns a credible runner-up spot where its architecture fits: concentrated COB output, industrial Meanwell drivers, and modular towers, not a size-clone fight.

🏆 Winner

RLT Home, for most buyers

For buyers who want a published seven-band mix (including 480 nm and 1064 nm), spectrometer peaks at six inches, nine modes, a free weekly plan, a 60-day trial, a three-year warranty, an FDA-registered listing, and in-stock full-body panels with stands, RLT Home is the stronger overall choice. TOP10 puts MINI at $465, COMPACT $935, MAX $1,499, ULTRA $2,439, and ELITE $4,225. The 49-inch through 65-inch single-panel rungs are the ones EMR-Tek does not stock as one chassis.

🥈 Runner up

EMR-Tek, for high-irradiance COB panels with industrial Meanwell drivers

For buyers who want chip-on-board modules, Meanwell drivers, a 0% flicker claim, and stacked Inferno Pros, EMR-Tek is the better fit. Firedragon at $599.99 is the six-wavelength square with a stand. Inferno at $1,199.99 is the 34-inch COB-plus-SMD panel. The Inferno Pro Tower at $2,499.99 is the full-body stack. Light Labs International’s 138.39 mW/cm² at 6 inches is the named-lab COB peak. That runner-up is a specialist win on COB architecture, not a full-line consolation. The 30-day unused-only trial and two-year warranty stay on the watch list.

EMR-Tek’s warranty is two years. RLT Home’s is three. EMR-Tek’s trial is 30 days unused. RLT Home’s is 60 days used. The right choice is which job you are buying for, and whether you need a single in-stock body-height panel with a stand already in the box.

Frequently asked questions

Who has better user reviews, EMR-Tek or RLT Home?

On independent Trustpilot listings checked 1 September 2026, EMR-Tek is 4.2 / 5 from 487 reviews and RLT Home is 4.6 / 5 from 243 reviews. RLT Home wins the score. EMR-Tek wins the sample size. Neither sample is thin. This page uses Trustpilot, not on-site shop stars, for the comparison.

Does EMR-Tek really output more irradiance than RLT Home?

On the named Light Labs International 6-inch peak for a 200W COB Inferno, 138.39 mW/cm² sits above RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE’s 121.62 mW/cm² Electropossible spectrometer peak. Those are two labs, two source types, and two geometries. EMR-Tek’s 200 mW/cm² Inferno copy does not name the meter. Firewave’s 1400 figure is at panel face (0 inches), not at 6 inches. Compare peak to peak at the same distance, or do not compare.

Can I use an EMR-Tek Firedragon instead of RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX?

No. Firedragon is an 11.8-inch square COB at $599.99. RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX is a 49.2 x 11.8-inch, 360-LED mid-tall panel at $1,595 ($1,499 with TOP10) with a 100.53 mW/cm² six-inch spectrometer peak. They do not cover the same body area.

Is TOP10 an EMR-Tek coupon?

No. TOP10 is 6% off current RLT Home live prices only, rounded to the nearest dollar. This article does not invent an EMR-Tek discount code. EMR-Tek prices are the live manufacturer prices on emr-tek.com.

Does the Inferno include a stand?

Not in the live Inferno SKU. EMR-Tek copy says a single Inferno can stand on its own pegs and that a stacked pair needs the rolling stand. The Inferno Floor Stand is $599.99. The Inferno Pro Tower bundle at $2,499.99 is the SKU that already includes two Inferno Pros and the rolling stand. RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX, ULTRA, and ELITE all include a stand in the live panel price.

Is EMR-Tek FDA-registered?

No. EMR-Tek is marketed as a general-wellness / low-risk product and is not FDA-registered or cleared. RLT Home is FDA-registered. That is a listing, not clearance, and not a treatment claim.

Conclusion

EMR-Tek and RLT Home are solving different jobs. EMR-Tek wins COB architecture, Meanwell Pro drivers, a 0% flicker claim, a named Light Labs 6-inch COB peak of 138.39 mW/cm², modular towers, and the larger Trustpilot sample (487 reviews). RLT Home wins a published seven-band table including 480 nm and 1064 nm, spectrometer peaks on every model, nine modes plus a plan, in-stock 12-inch through 65-inch panels with stands, a 60-day used trial, a three-year warranty, an FDA-registered listing, and the higher Trustpilot score (4.6 / 243). With TOP10, RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI is $465, COMPACT $935, MAX $1,499, ULTRA $2,439, and ELITE $4,225. The data favors RLT Home for most buyers, with EMR-Tek the runner-up for high-irradiance COB panels with industrial Meanwell drivers. A $599.99 Firedragon still does not cover a body like RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX.

Speak with a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new therapy, particularly if you have cancer, are pregnant, or are managing a serious health condition. Home red light panels sold in the United States may be FDA-registered. That is a listing, not FDA clearance. RLT Home is FDA-registered. EMR-Tek is marketed as general wellness and is not registered or cleared. Neither brand is presented here as treating disease.
