Red Light Rising vs RLT Home: Which Red Light Therapy Brand Wins in 2026?
Medical review: Articles on Red Light Therapy Top 10 are reviewed for scientific accuracy by our medical expert team. This page is wellness information, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan.
Red Light Rising is the UK specialist: five bands on Advantage, a 365-day private-buyer trial, and a touchscreen that tells you where to stand. RLT Home is the published-density seven-band line, including 480 nm blue and 1064 nm, with spectrometer peaks at six inches and a free personalised weekly usage plan.
Winner summary
Overall winner: RLT Home
This is not a size-clone fight. Advantage 900 is 91 cm (35.8 inches). Full Stack is 120 cm (47.2 inches). RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA is 64.3 inches and RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE is 65 inches. Red Light Rising is a GBP store with free UK and EU shipping. RLT Home is a USD store. Prices below were pulled 1 September 2026.
At-a-glance verdict: RLT Home is the better fit for most buyers. Red Light Rising is the runner-up for UK and EU buyers who want a 365-day trial, a UK brand, and Advantage touchscreen modes.

The brands at a glance
Red Light Rising
The UK panel brand with a 365-day trial
Red Light Rising is a UK brand founded in 2017. Live panels on 1 September 2026 are Half Stack (100 x 3W, 50 x 22 cm), Full Stack (200 x 3W, 120 x 22 cm), and Advantage 450/900 as variants of one product. Half Stack and Full Stack run 630, 660, 810, and 850 nm at 25% each. Advantage adds 830 nm, six modes, a touchscreen, and modular linking. Private buyers get 365 days. Commercial buyers get 60. The customer pays return shipping.
RLT Home
Published density, seven bands, usage plan
RLT Home’s line is RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, MAX, ULTRA, and ELITE. It publishes LED percentage for seven wavelengths, including 480 nm at 6% and 1064 nm at 14%. Nine modes were built from the Heiskanen photobiomodulation database. After purchase, the science team writes a free personalised weekly plan. Spectrometer peaks are published at six inches. Stands ship in the box, motorized on RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA and ELITE. Trial: 60 days, no restocking, free insured return shipping. Devices stay offline.
Spectrum and wavelength density: the most important difference
Count is not the story. Density is: the share of LEDs in each band. Red Light Rising publishes LED counts per wavelength, so the comparison can be scored honestly.
Red Light Rising Advantage: heavy 660 nm and 850 nm
Advantage 900 uses 300 LEDs. Advantage 450 uses the same mix at half count (150 LEDs). The split is:
| Wavelength | Advantage 900 LEDs | Density | Role |
|---|---|---|---|
| 630 nm (red) | 30 | 10% | Surface skin, collagen |
| 660 nm (red) | 120 | 40% | Surface skin, collagen, hair |
| 810 nm (near infrared) | 20 | 6.7% | Muscle, joint, brain |
| 830 nm (near infrared) | 20 | 6.7% | Muscle, joint, brain |
| 850 nm (near infrared) | 110 | 36.7% | Recovery, fat metabolism |
About 50% of Advantage LEDs sit in visible red. Almost all of the near infrared is 850 nm. Combined 810 plus 830 is only 13.3%. There is no 1064 nm and no 480 nm. Half Stack and Full Stack are 25% each at 630, 660, 810, and 850 nm, so their 810 nm share is actually higher than Advantage.
RLT Home: seven bands, including 1064 nm and 480 nm
RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, MAX, and ELITE share this mix (ULTRA is noted below):
| Wavelength | Density | Role |
|---|---|---|
| 480 nm (blue) | 6% | Surface, skin-targeting, acne-oriented sessions |
| 630 nm (red) | 19% | Surface skin, collagen |
| 660 nm (red) | 19% | Surface skin, collagen, hair |
| 810 nm (near infrared) | 19% | Muscle, joint, brain |
| 830 nm (near infrared) | 14% | Muscle, joint, brain |
| 850 nm (near infrared) | 9% | Recovery, fat metabolism |
| 1064 nm (deep infrared) | 14% | Joints, deep tissue, brain |
RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA: 480 nm 5%, 630 nm 20%, 660 nm 20%, 810 nm 20%, 830 nm 13%, 850 nm 8%, 1064 nm 14%.
Combined 810 plus 1064 on RLT Home is 33%. Advantage has 0% at 1064 nm and 6.7% at 810 nm. That density gap is the main spectrum story. The 1064 nm slice is the band buyers usually mean when they ask about arthritis and osteoarthritis. Buyers who want a 660/850-weighted UK panel can still prefer Advantage. For another published rival on the denser seven-band side, see the live BlockBlueLight vs RLT Home comparison, or Hooga vs RLT Home.
Edge: RLT Home on published seven-band density, 1064 nm, 810 nm share, and optional 480 nm. Red Light Rising Advantage on a 660/850-weighted five-band mix with no blue and no 1064 nm, which some UK buyers will want on purpose.
Power and Irradiance: Measured by Independent Third Parties
Solar power meters over-report LED output. This section uses spectrometer figures only. Peak compares with peak. Average compares with average. Red Light Rising publishes in-house Hopoocolor OHSP-350F averages after a 15-minute warmup at 15 cm (labelled 6 inches). RLT Home publishes spectrometer peaks at six inches. Peak is not average. There is no power winner from mixed data.
Red Light Rising’s live product pages and compare table (1 September 2026) list:
| Red Light Rising device | Hopoo OHSP-350F at 15 cm | How it is reported |
|---|---|---|
| Half Stack | 57.0 mW/cm² | In-house average |
| Full Stack | 57.0 mW/cm² | In-house average |
| Advantage 450 | 86.4 mW/cm² | In-house average, same per-LED irradiance as Advantage 900 |
| Advantage 900 | 86.4 mW/cm² | In-house average |
The brand is transparent about the Hopoo instrument. In-house is still in-house. Lighting Industry Association tests on Target Light 670 and 2.0 are handheld figures, not panel scores, and are not used here.
RLT Home publishes spectrometer peaks at six inches for every Total Spectrum panel:
| RLT Home device | Spectrometer peak @ 6 inches |
|---|---|
| RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI | 98.7 mW/cm² |
| RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT | 99.0 mW/cm² |
| RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX | 100.53 mW/cm² |
| RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA | 119.28 mW/cm² |
| RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE | 121.62 mW/cm² |
Do not convert 57 or 86.4 mW/cm² averages into a six-inch peak, and do not treat 86.4 as if it were 99.0. RLT Home’s advantage on this row is line-wide peak transparency, not a crowned like-for-like power score.
Edge: No power winner on mixed peak versus average data. RLT Home for publishing six-inch spectrometer peaks on every model. Red Light Rising for publishing the Hopoo instrument, warmup, and averaging method in public specs.
LED chip design
Red Light Rising lists 3W LEDs. The chip package is not published as single-chip or dual-chip. Rated versus real wattage is published, though Advantage product-page watts and compare-page watts disagree slightly. This review does not pick a wattage winner from that mismatch. RLT Home Total Spectrum panels are single-chip 5W.
Edge: RLT Home for publishing single-chip 5W. Red Light Rising’s 3W package is not a documented dual-chip or single-chip claim.
Beam angle
A narrower beam is more intense on-axis. A wider beam covers edges more easily.
Red Light Rising’s compare table lists a 30-degree beam on Half Stack, Advantage 450, and Advantage 900. That matches RLT Home’s 30-degree default. Full Stack beam angle is not published, and this review does not invent one. RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA uses mixed 15/30/60-degree lenses. 30 degrees is the shared default, not a Red Light Rising exclusive.
Edge: Even on 30-degree models. RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA on mixed 15/30/60 coverage.
Form factor and coverage
Advantage 900 is 35.8 x 11.8 inches. Full Stack is 47.2 x 8.7 inches. RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA is 64.3 x 11.8 inches and RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE is 65 x 20.5 inches. About 64 inches is what matters for lie-under use. Red Light Rising does not sell that height as a single panel.
| Red Light Rising | Size / LEDs | Closest RLT Home panel | Size / LEDs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Half Stack | 19.7 x 8.7 in (50 x 22 cm), 100 LEDs | RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI (smaller) or COMPACT (taller) | MINI 11.8 x 11.4 in, 72 LEDs. COMPACT 30.3 x 11.8 in, 216 LEDs |
| Advantage 450 | 17.7 x 11.8 in (45 x 30 cm), 150 LEDs | RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT | 30.3 x 11.8 in, 216 LEDs |
| Full Stack | 47.2 x 8.7 in (120 x 22 cm), 200 LEDs | RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX | 49.2 x 11.8 in, 360 LEDs |
| Advantage 900 | 35.8 x 11.8 in (91 x 30 cm), 300 LEDs | Between COMPACT and MAX. Not a 64-inch clone | RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX 49.2 x 11.8 in, 360 LEDs |
| No Red Light Rising equivalent | Modular: up to four Advantage panels on a vertical or horizontal stand | RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA and ELITE | 64.3 x 11.8 in, 480 LEDs, and 65 x 20.5 in, 864 LEDs |
Two Advantage 900s stacked approach full-body height, and two or more Advantage panels include a complimentary vertical or horizontal stand. That is a real multi-panel path. It is not a single 64-inch lie-under panel.
Edge: RLT Home for single-panel 64-inch and 65-inch coverage. Red Light Rising for modular Advantage linking and a 120 cm Full Stack that nearly matches RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX height at a narrower width.
Treatment modes and personalised guidance
Advantage runs six named presets plus custom. The touchscreen tells you how far to stand. That auto-distance display is a genuine Red Light Rising edge. Half Stack and Full Stack have two switches only. RLT Home Total Spectrum panels include nine prebuilt modes plus custom, including Pain and Inflammation, Sleep, Acne, and Hair Growth. After purchase, the science team writes a free personalised weekly plan. Red Light Rising’s Zoom onboarding is real support, not the same automatic plan. Sessions with denser 810 nm shares may help muscle recovery routines; evening use without blue is covered in the sleep and insomnia guide.
Edge: Split. Red Light Rising Advantage on touchscreen modes that display distance. RLT Home on mode count plus the automatic personalised plan. Half Stack and Full Stack lose the mode row entirely.

Half Stack’s product FAQ says it is not compatible with the vertical or horizontal Advantage stands, even though the compare table marks it stand compatible. This review follows the product FAQ.
Edge: Close on hardware for Advantage, because a desktop or floor stand is in the gift set. RLT Home pulls ahead on a stand in every size including RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, MAX, ULTRA, and ELITE, and on two sets of eyewear as a line-wide standard.
User reviews
Public reviews are scored from independent Trustpilot listings, not manufacturer star widgets. Red Light Rising’s on-site 5.0 / 5 from 35 Advantage reviews is not used here. As of 1 September 2026, RLT Home is 4.6 / 5 from 243 reviews (uk.trustpilot.com/review/redlighttherapyhome.com). Red Light Rising is 4.1 / 5 from 267 reviews (redlightrising.co.uk). Both samples are large. RLT Home wins the row on score, not vibes.
Edge: RLT Home on public Trustpilot score (4.6 / 5 from 243 versus 4.1 / 5 from 267), checked 1 September 2026.
Trial, returns, and warranty
Warranty is even at three years. Trial length is not. Red Light Rising: 365 days for private buyers on these panels. Commercial buyers get 60 days. The customer pays tracked, signed-for return shipping. Returns need 100% original packaging. One return per household. The 365-day promise is labelled limited-time on the refund-policy page. RLT Home: 60 days, no restocking, free insured return shipping. A year is class-leading for UK buyers. International return shipping of an 11 kg panel is not frictionless. Length wins for Red Light Rising. Friction wins for RLT Home.
Edge: Red Light Rising on trial length (365 days for private buyers). RLT Home on return shipping, restocking, and a simpler 60-day window. Even on the three-year warranty.
A note on FDA
Home panels sold in the United States are FDA-registered. That is a listing, not FDA clearance. RLT Home uses FDA-registered language. Red Light Rising is a UK brand with CE and ROHS marks, and copy that says it is not a medical treatment. This review does not call Red Light Rising FDA-registered.
Pricing: an apples-to-apples comparison
Prices pulled 1 September 2026 from redlighttherapyhome.com/products.json and redlightrising.com/products.json. Red Light Rising’s store is GBP (Shopify active currency GBP). This article quotes GBP and converts at about 1.355 USD per GBP (spot around 1.3550 that day), rounded to the nearest dollar. Shopify may show a different USD sticker to some US visitors. That geo price is not used here. TOP10 is 6% off RLT Home only. There is no Red Light Rising code.
TOP10 rounding: $495 × 0.94 = $465.30 → $465. $995 × 0.94 = $935.30 → $935. $1,595 × 0.94 = $1,499.30 → $1,499. $2,595 × 0.94 = $2,439.30 → $2,439. $4,495 × 0.94 = $4,225.30 → $4,225.
Live Red Light Rising JSON (GBP): Half Stack £599; Full Stack £980; Advantage 900 £1,725; Advantage 450 £1,150 on UK/EU plugs (USA plug listed at £1,725 and unavailable). Floor/desktop stand £125. Vertical/horizontal £499. Motorised horizontal £799. Approximate USD: $812, $1,328, $2,337, $1,558, stands $169 / $676 / $1,083.
On that pull, Half Stack UK plug and Advantage USA plugs were unavailable. Stock moves. Prices above are live variant prices, not a promise of US-plug inventory.

| Panel dimensions (H x W) | 19.7 x 8.7 in (50 x 22 cm) | 11.8 x 11.4 in |
| Panel price | £599 (about $812) | $495 (compare-at $695). Code TOP10 drops it to $465 |

| Spectrometer at 6 in / 15 cm | 57.0 mW/cm² average (in-house Hopoo) | 98.7 mW/cm² peak |
Not size clones. Half Stack is a limb/torso starter. RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI is a tabletop. UK buyers at £599 will see Half Stack as the value entry. US buyers comparing about $812 plus duty with $465 TOP10 for MINI are shopping different jobs.
Tier 2: Mid panel, Advantage 450 vs RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT
| Item | Red Light Rising Advantage 450 | RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT |
|---|---|---|
| LEDs | 150 x 3W | 216 x 5W single-chip |
| Panel dimensions (H x W) | 17.7 x 11.8 in (45 x 30 cm) | 30.3 x 11.8 in |
| Panel price | £1,150 (about $1,558) | $995 (compare-at $1,295). Code TOP10 drops it to $935 |
| Stand | Desktop stand included in the live gift set, plus door kit | Stand included |
| Realistic total | £1,150 | $995, or $935 with code TOP10 |

| Modes | 6 touchscreen modes plus custom | 9 science-built modes plus custom |
RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT is taller, has more LEDs, and is cheaper in USD even before TOP10. Advantage 450 wins the UK checkout at £1,150 with a desktop stand and a 365-day trial. US buyers comparing about $1,558 plus duty against $935 with TOP10 should not call Advantage 450 the value mid panel.
Tier 3: Tall panel, Full Stack and Advantage 900 vs RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX
| Item | Full Stack | Advantage 900 | RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX |
|---|---|---|---|
| LEDs | 200 x 3W | 300 x 3W | 360 x 5W single-chip |
| Panel dimensions (H x W) | 47.2 x 8.7 in | 35.8 x 11.8 in | 49.2 x 11.8 in |
| Panel price | £980 (about $1,328) | £1,725 (about $2,337) | $1,595 (compare-at $1,995). Code TOP10 drops it to $1,499 |
| Stand | Door kit. Vertical/horizontal stands £499 extra | Floor stand included in the live gift set, plus door kit | Stand included. Optional electric stand $495 |
| Realistic total | £980, or £1,479 with a £499 stand | £1,725 | $1,595, or $1,499 with TOP10 |

| Wavelengths | 4, 25% each | 5, 660/850 weighted | 7, including 1064 nm |
Full Stack is the closest height match to RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX, at a thinner width and 200 LEDs versus 360. UK buyers at £980 will see it as the tall-panel value. RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX is $1,499 with TOP10. Advantage 900 is shorter, with touchscreen modes and a complimentary floor stand.
Tier 4: Full-body, modular Advantage vs RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA and ELITE
| Item | Two Advantage 900 panels | RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA | RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE |
|---|---|---|---|
| LEDs | 600 x 3W across two panels | 480 x 5W single-chip | 864 x 5W single-chip |
| Panel dimensions | Two 35.8 x 11.8 in panels, stacked or side by side | 64.3 x 11.8 in, lie-under | 65 x 20.5 in, lie-under |
| Panel price | £3,450 (about $4,675) | $2,595 (compare-at $2,995). Code TOP10 drops it to $2,439 | $4,495 (compare-at $4,995). Code TOP10 drops it to $4,225 |
| Stand | Complimentary vertical or horizontal stand on two-plus Advantage orders. Motorised horizontal is £799 extra | Motorized electric stand included | Motorized electric stand included |
| Realistic total | £3,450, or £4,249 with the motorised horizontal stand | $2,595, or $2,439 with TOP10 | $4,495, or $4,225 with TOP10 |
| Body coverage | Modular wall, up to four panels | Full-body, lie-under height | Head-to-toe, 20.5 in width |
| 1064 nm | None | 14% | 14% |
Red Light Rising does not sell a 64-inch single panel. Two Advantage 900s can make sense as a UK light wall with a 365-day trial. That path is not cheaper than RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA for a US buyer, and it still has no 1064 nm.
Who should choose Red Light Rising?
Best fit
UK and EU buyers who want a year to decide
- Live in the UK or EU and want GBP checkout with free mainland UK and EU shipping
- Want a 365-day private-buyer trial, and will keep original packaging for a possible return
- Want Advantage touchscreen modes that display standing distance, plus modular linking
- Want a 660/850-weighted five-band mix and do not need 1064 nm or 480 nm
- Want Half Stack at £599 as a UK entry panel that is larger than a tabletop
US buyers can still order, but the store is GBP, USA plugs were out of stock on this pull, and a return still requires paid international shipping with original packaging.
Who should choose RLT Home?
Best fit
Seven-band density, published six-inch data, and a single full-body panel
- Want 1064 nm at 14% and 810 nm at 19%, which Red Light Rising Advantage does not match
- Want 480 nm blue at 6% alongside 1064 nm
- Want spectrometer peaks at six inches on RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, MAX, ULTRA, and ELITE
- Want a single 64.3-inch or 65-inch panel rather than stacking two Advantage 900s
- Want nine modes plus a free personalised weekly usage plan
- Want USD checkout, an FDA-registered listing, and free insured 60-day returns
The verdict: winner and runner up
When the comparison is run on the data, RLT Home takes the overall win for most buyers, and Red Light Rising earns a credible runner-up spot where its geography and trial genuinely fit. This is a UK-versus-seven-band fight. It is not a single-winner page.
🏆 Winner
RLT Home, for most buyers
For buyers who want a published seven-band mix (including 480 nm blue and 14% at 1064 nm), spectrometer peaks at six inches across RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, MAX, ULTRA, and ELITE, nine science-built modes, a free personalised weekly usage plan, free insured returns, and a single full-body panel with a stand in the box, RLT Home is the stronger overall choice.
TOP10 (6% off RLT Home only) drops RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI to $465, COMPACT to $935, MAX to $1,499, ULTRA to $2,439, and ELITE to $4,225. It is not a Red Light Rising code.
🥈 Runner up
Red Light Rising, for UK and EU buyers who want a 365-day trial
For buyers who want a UK brand, GBP checkout, free UK and EU shipping, a 365-day private-buyer trial, Advantage touchscreen distance modes, and modular panels, Red Light Rising is the better fit. The 30-degree beam is real, but it is not unique against RLT Home’s 30-degree default. The niche is the UK trial and the UK checkout, not the beam.
Both offer three-year warranties. The fork is a UK year-long trial versus a seven-band full-body panel with a simpler 60-day return.
