At-a-glance verdict: RLT Home is the better fit for most buyers who want a published LED share for every band, a full size ladder with a stand in every box, and an independent review record. NrG Light is the runner-up for buyers who want nine dimmable bands, pulsing up to 10,000 Hz, a lower compact price, and a larger full-body panel for about the same money.

Wavelength density, not wavelength count
Every NrG Light panel lists nine wavelengths: 530 nm green, 590 nm amber, 630, 660 and 670 nm red, and 810, 830, 850 and 1060 nm near infrared. NrG does not publish the LED share for each band, but each channel can be dimmed from 0 to 100% on the touchscreen or app. RLT Home publishes its share: 56% near infrared across 810, 830, 850 and 1064 nm, plus 480 nm. Wavelength density matters more than band count, and only RLT Home shows how its LEDs are split.
RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, MAX, and ELITE publish this LED share: 480 nm 6%, 630 nm 19%, 660 nm 19%, 810 nm 19%, 830 nm 14%, 850 nm 9%, 1064 nm 14%. RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA is 480 nm 5%, 630 nm 20%, 660 nm 20%, 810 nm 20%, 830 nm 13%, 850 nm 8%, 1064 nm 14%. Seven bands is not automatically better. Density is. A real 19% on 810 nm and 14% on 1064 nm is a published recipe, not a headline count.

Edge: NrG Light on range and control. RLT Home on published share.
Power and Irradiance: Measured by Independent Third Parties
Solar power meters over-report LED output. Spectrometers are the accurate reference. Peak compares with peak. Average compares with average. A 12-inch figure is not a 6-inch figure, and a contact or faceplate figure is not a 6-inch figure either. A brand-stated number with no named instrument is not a third-party spectrometer figure.
Row 1. Spectrometer versus spectrometer
NrG Light publishes its own spectrometer readings at 6 inches. On the PHOENIX page it names the instrument, an OHSP-350IR spectrometer, for 82.501 mW/cm² (nrglight.com/phoenix; the SPARK handheld reads 55.643 at 3 inches on the same instrument, nrglight.com/spark). The AURA (65.3 mW/cm²) and AURORA (75.1 mW/cm²) spec tables list “spectrometer irradiance” at 6 inches but do not name the instrument. NrG does not say whether any figure is a peak or an averaged reading. These are brand-published spectrometer readings, not independent third-party figures. NrG’s solar-meter figures are not used.
RLT Home publishes spectrometer peaks at six inches for every Total Spectrum panel:
| RLT Home device | Spectrometer peak @ 6 inches |
|---|---|
| RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI | 98.7 mW/cm² |
| RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT | 99.0 mW/cm² |
| RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX | 100.53 mW/cm² |
| RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA | 119.28 mW/cm² |
| RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE | 121.62 mW/cm² |
Row 2. Brand-stated figures (not mixed with row 1)
RLT Home’s six-inch figures are brand-published spectrometer peaks (table below). Because NrG does not say whether its figures are peaks or averages, the two sets are shown side by side but not ranked against each other.
Edge: Not ranked. Both publish spectrometer figures, but not on a stated like-for-like basis.
Coverage and the size ladder
NrG Light runs from the AURA (12.6 x 9.1 in, built-in stand) to the AURORA (36.2 x 16.5 in, rolling stand and door pulley) and the PHOENIX (74.5 x 22.9 in, wall bracket; the MS2000-B stand is $749 on its own). RLT Home runs from the MINI (11.8 x 11.4 in) to the ELITE (65 x 20.5 in), with a stand in every panel box. RLT Home also sells a handheld, the Total Spectrum FOCUS: $395 (compare-at $595), $371 with TOP10. It carries 15 LEDs (22 chips) across seven bands (633, 660, 810, 830, 850, 940, 1064 nm), a 10,000 mAh battery, four preset modes with 0, 10, and 40 Hz pulsing, and a 1-year warranty. RLT Home publishes its own spectrometer readings for FOCUS: 115 mW/cm² at 3 inches and 69 at 6 inches. Those are brand-published, not independent third-party figures.

Edge: NrG Light on compact price and full-body panel size per dollar. RLT Home on a mid-size MAX and a stand in every box.
Modes, timer, app, and plan
NrG Light panels let each wavelength channel be dimmed from 0 to 100%, pulse from 1 to 10,000 Hz or run continuously with 0% flicker, and run from a touchscreen with Smart Scenes and Bluetooth app control.
RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI, COMPACT, MAX, ULTRA, and ELITE include nine prebuilt performance modes (including Pain and Inflammation and Sleep), a custom four-channel mode, pulsing from 0 to 5,000 Hz, a touch interface, and a remote. A free personalised weekly usage plan is in the catalog. Devices stay offline, with no app.
Edge: NrG Light on per-channel dimming and pulse range. RLT Home on the free weekly plan.
Trial, shipping, and warranty
NrG Light accepts returns within 60 days of delivery with prior authorization. It states no standard restocking fee, and the customer pays return shipping or freight on elective returns. Standard shipping is free on the SPARK, AURA and AURORA; PHOENIX freight is quoted separately. Panels carry a 3-year warranty and the SPARK 1 year (nrglight.com returns, shipping and warranty pages, 3 November 2026).
RLT Home offers 60 days with no restocking fee; the customer pays return shipping (rlthome.com returns policy, 3 November 2026). Warranty is 3 years.
Edge: Even. Both give 60 days with the customer paying return shipping and no restocking fee.
FDA wording
NrG Light says its panels are FDA-listed Class II devices under product code ILY from an FDA-registered establishment, and notes that registration and listing are not approval or clearance. FDA classifies product code ILY (therapeutic infrared lamp, 21 CFR 890.5500) as Class II and exempt from 510(k). openFDA returned no NrG Light 510(k) and no NrG registration record on 3 November 2026, so this page does not describe any NrG device as FDA-cleared.
RLT Home home panels are FDA-registered, not cleared. Registration is a listing. It is not a clinical approval to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease.
Edge: Neither brand is FDA-cleared for these panels.
