Sunlighten Red Light Therapy Review (2026)

Sunlighten wordmark from the live manufacturer CDN. Single-brand hero, not a versus lockup. Device photos sit in the sections below.

Medical review: Articles on Red Light Therapy Top 10 are reviewed for scientific accuracy by our medical expert team. This page is wellness information, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. Sessions with red or near-infrared light may help recovery-oriented or skin-oriented routines. They are not a treatment for disease.

Sunlighten is primarily an infrared sauna company that also sells 660/850 accessory panels. The RED Light Therapy Panel and RED Light Therapy Mini Panel live on shop-us.sunlighten.com beside mPulse, Signature, Amplify, and Solo cabins. This review scores those two rectangular panels only. It does not score saunas, ice barrels, sheets, the lumiNIR wand, or the RED Light Therapy Mask. Sessions with 660 nm and 850 nm may help people who already want a furniture-grade, app-guided two-band panel. They do not turn a wood-frame LED array into a cabin, a clinic laser, or an FDA-cleared device. This is one-brand reporting. It is not a versus page and does not crown a market winner.

Brand snapshot, not a scorecard. No crown.

Sunlighten has sold infrared saunas since 1999. The accessory-panel storefront is shop-us.sunlighten.com. Trustpilot lists the company at 10975 El Monte St., Leawood, Kansas. The live panel FAQ is blunt about the job split: the RED Light Therapy Panel is for open air, not a heated cabin. Use it before or after a sauna session. Do not treat the panel as a sauna, and do not treat a sauna as a panel.

The same cart also holds the RED Light Therapy Mask, lumiNIR devices, infrared sheets, ice barrels, and the cabin lines. Those SKUs stay off the score. The mask is a wearable with its own 510(k) marketing. The two rectangular panels are the catalog that belongs on this review.

Live prices, 1 September 2026, USD as printed on shop-us.sunlighten.com/products.json and the live product pages. RED Light Therapy Panel $1,379 (compare-at $1,589). RED Light Therapy Mini Panel $799 (compare-at $920). Floor Stand $149. Desk Stand $174 (compare-at $200). Door Hanger $69. VESA Swivel Arm $50 (compare-at $58). Mini Mounting Bracket $37. Single Wall Mount $59. Wide Wall Mount $79. Live product pages also run Sunlighten’s own Labor Day event: 20% off applied at checkout through 10 September 2026. Checkout currently displays $1,103.20 for the Panel and $639.20 for the Mini. That is their promotion, not a Top 10 code. No Sunlighten coupon is invented here. TOP10 is 6% off current RLT Home live prices only, nearest dollar, and it does not apply to Sunlighten. Panels are flagged free shipping. HSA / FSA is listed via TrueMed, which is theirs.

The 2026 Sunlighten accessory-panel lineup

Two sizes. Same two wavelengths. Same app. Same eucalyptus wood frame. Start with physical size, because 35 inches is not a 64-inch lie-under chassis, and 14.5 inches is a targeted Mini, not a standing torso panel.

Model LEDs / size / weight Listed peaks Live catalog price, 1 Sep 2026 Labor Day checkout through 10 Sep Stand / mount note
RED Light Therapy Mini Panel 72 LEDs (36 red, 36 NIR). 14.5 x 11 x 3 in, 4 in with feet. 11.6 lb. 122 W 660 + 850 nm, 50/50 $799 (compare-at $920) $639.20 Desk Stand $174, VESA $50, Floor Stand $149, Mini Mounting Bracket $37, wall mounts extra. None in the Mini price

Sunlighten RED Light Therapy Panel with eucalyptus wood frame, red and near-infrared LEDs on
Sunlighten RED Light Therapy Panel, 35 x 11 x 2.76 inches, 200 LEDs (100 x 660 nm, 100 x 850 nm). Manufacturer CDN photo, live 1 September 2026. Catalog sticker $1,379. Floor Stand sold separately at $149.

The Mini is the portable SKU: 72 LEDs, 14.5 inches tall, 11.6 lb, 122 W, 110-240VAC. Live copy sells portrait or landscape on the Desk Stand, plus a VESA arm for a nightstand or desk. It is a face, joint, and targeted-zone panel. It is not a standing full-body routine.

The larger panel is the 35-inch SKU: 200 LEDs, 22 lb, 100-240VAC. Live copy calls the sessions whole-body wellness. Physically it is a seated torso height, 11 inches wide. There is no 49-inch or 64-inch Sunlighten panel in the live catalog. That is a catalog fact, not a smear of the 35-inch object.

Spectrum: two bands, a real 50/50 mix

Sunlighten lists two wavelengths on both panels. Count is not the story. Density is: the share of LEDs in each band. The full panel publishes 100 x 660 nm and 100 x 850 nm. The Mini publishes 36 red and 36 near-infrared. That 50/50 split is a real density choice. Every diode sits in the two most commonly marketed home-panel bands. Independent red / NIR switching is available through Custom Mode on the app. That control is real. It does not add 480 nm, 630 nm, 810 nm, 830 nm, or 1064 nm.

Wavelength RED Light Therapy Panel Mini Panel
480 nm (blue)Not usedNot used
630 nm (red)Not usedNot used

830 nm (near infrared)Not listedNot listed
850 nm (near infrared)100 LEDs (50%)36 LEDs (50%)
1064 nm (deep infrared)Not usedNot used

Sessions with 660 nm may help surface-oriented routines. Sessions with 850 nm may help recovery-oriented routines. Buyers who want almost all of the array in those two bands will like this mix. Buyers who want 810 nm, 830 nm, 1064 nm, 630 nm, or 480 nm will not find those bands here.

Fit note: A concentrated 50/50 660/850 array is the line thesis. Density over count. The cost of that thesis is a two-band catalog. 810 nm and 1064 nm are simply not on these two SKUs.

Power and Irradiance: Measured by Independent Third Parties

Solar power meters over-report LED output. Spectrometers are the accurate reference. Peak compares with peak. Average compares with average. A six-inch figure is not a surface figure, and it should not be converted. This page does not mix those jobs. Sunlighten publishes a distance table on its Light Science Facts page and repeats “200mW/cm² of power” in product copy. The instrument is not named. The method is not named. Those numbers belong on their own row. They are not ranked as weak for honesty, and they are not rewritten into a fake spectrometer peak this review did not see.

Spectrometer (independent, named method)

Sunlighten device Spectrometer peak at 6 inches
RED Light Therapy Panel Not published on the live panel page, Mini page, or Light Science Facts page pulled 1 September 2026
RED Light Therapy Mini Panel Not published

Unpublished is unpublished. This review looked for a spectrometer trace, an instrument name, or a lab report for the panel. None was printed. None is invented here.

Brand-stated table (Sunlighten Light Science Facts, method unstated)

Distance Sunlighten stated irradiance Instrument / method
6 inches 200 mW/cm² Not named. Own row. Not ranked as weak
12 inches 165 mW/cm² Not named
24 inches 110 mW/cm² Not named
36 inches 88 mW/cm² Not named. Same Light Science Facts table

The live Light Science Facts page also lists max irradiance / power density as 200 mW/cm² and names wavelengths as 660 nm and 850 nm. Product copy repeats the 200 mW/cm² headline. Those four distances are useful as Sunlighten’s own distance table. They are not a spectrometer win, and they are not a spectrometer loss. Solar-meter headlines from other shops are a different instrument and are not used as a stick against this table.

How-to copy on the live pages is conservative: start with 2 to 5 minutes a few times per week, or 5 to 10 minutes one to two times per week, and use the app for distance, time, and position. Photobiomodulation is dose-dependent. A bigger milliwatt print is not automatically better. Sessions inside a studied window may help. Sessions that ignore the body’s cues may not.

Fit note: The 200 / 165 / 110 / 88 table is disclosed, not hidden. Instrument unnamed is the remaining paperwork gap. Do not “fix” 200 by comparing it to a spectrometer peak from another catalog, and do not rank it as weak because it is brand-stated.

LED construction: dual-chip is N/A unless the brand lists it

Sunlighten does not publish LED type (single-chip, dual-chip, 5W, or otherwise) on the live panel page, Mini page, or Light Science Facts page pulled 1 September 2026. Dual-chip is a construction fact when a brand prints it. It is N/A here. This review will not invent a chip package, and it will not treat an unpublished package as a smear of anyone else’s diodes. Construction is not output. Lifespan hours are also unpublished on those pages, so they are not quoted.

Beam angle: dual 30 and 60 degrees

The Light Science Facts page lists beam angle as 30 and 60 degrees. Product copy repeats “dual 30° and 60° beam angles” on both the Panel and the Mini. That dual-lens claim is live and specific. A wider 60-degree lens may help fill a field at the cost of peak intensity on axis. A tighter 30-degree lens may help keep more energy on the body. This page does not invent a measured beam plot beyond what Sunlighten publishes.

App, remote, and 20+ programs

Sunlighten’s guided-app niche is real. Live copy lists 20+ programs for skin care, muscle recovery, inflammation, energy, sleep, immune health, and cellulite, each with beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, plus Custom Mode (light type, intensity, session length) and Quick Start. The app also gives distance, time, and positioning prompts. A remote ships in the box. Sessions with those presets may help people who want a phone to pick the protocol. They are not medical prescriptions, and they are not a personalised weekly plan written by a human after purchase.

The cost of that workflow is an account on a phone. Buyers who want an offline panel with no app will not find that posture here. That is a design choice, not a missing firmware update.

Sunlighten RED Light Therapy Mini Panel, 72 LED wood-frame panel with lights on
Sunlighten RED Light Therapy Mini Panel, 14.5 x 11 inches, 72 LEDs (36 x 660 nm, 36 x 850 nm). Manufacturer CDN photo. Live catalog price $799. Desk Stand sold separately at $174.

What’s in the box, and how the stands actually ship

Live What Is Included on the Panel: remote, free downloadable app, power cord, optional goggles, 3-year limited warranty. Mini box: Mini Panel, remote, downloadable app, power cord, optional goggles, 3-year limited warranty. Goggles are listed as optional, not standard kit. Confirmed on both live pages 1 September 2026. “Optional” is not “included as standard.” Budget for eyewear if you want it in the first session.

Mounts are paid add-ons. Live JSON, 1 September 2026: Floor Stand $149, Desk Stand $174 (compare-at $200), Door Hanger $69, VESA Swivel Arm $50 (compare-at $58), Mini Mounting Bracket $37, Single Wall Mount $59, Wide Wall Mount $79. Labor Day checkout also discounts those mounts through 10 September 2026 (Floor Stand currently $119.20, Desk Stand $139.20). A 35-inch, 22 lb panel without a stand is a wall or custom-mount project. Buyers who need a floor stand should budget $1,528 at catalog stickers, or about $1,222.40 at Labor Day checkout with the Floor Stand, not the $1,379 headline alone.

Panels are flagged FREE SHIPPING on the product pages. Sitewide free shipping on accessory orders over $199 with exclusions (contiguous US) is the accessory rule. Electrical input is 100-240VAC on the Panel and 110-240VAC, 122 W on the Mini. Fan count and IP rating are not itemized on the live spec blocks, so they are not invented.

Sunlighten RED Light Therapy Panel on the optional white floor stand
Sunlighten RED Light Therapy Panel on the optional Floor Stand, $149 extra at the live catalog sticker. The stand is not in the panel price. Manufacturer CDN photo.

Trial, returns, and warranty

Live panel pages: 30-day returns, “try it at home”, 3-year limited residential warranty, 1-year commercial. The warranty line is marked limited and, in the brand pack, tiered. No restocking fee is stated on the product pages pulled 1 September 2026. Return shipping is unpublished. Unpublished stays unpublished. “Not stated” is not the same as “no restocking fee” as a guarantee. It is a gap on the product pages.

HSA / FSA eligibility is listed via TrueMed on the panel pages and documented on sunlighten.com/hsa-fsa. That is their checkout path, not a Top 10 discount. Patent pending is printed on the Panel product copy. This review records the phrase. It does not invent a patent number.

A note on FDA: panel unpublished, mask 510(k) only

Registration is a listing. Clearance is a 510(k). Approval is a different process. No rectangular home red light panel on this site is presented as FDA-cleared or FDA-approved.

The PANEL’s FDA status is not published on the live Sunlighten panel or Mini pages pulled 1 September 2026. Only Sunlighten’s separate MASK is marketed as 510(k) cleared. This review does not treat the panel as cleared. It does not invent a K-number for the panel, and it does not invent a K-number for the mask either. The mask pages say 510(k) cleared without printing the number. A wearable 510(k) does not travel to a 35-inch accessory panel sitting in the same cart.

Sessions with these panels may help general wellness routines. They are not a treatment for any named disease. Shoppers who need an FDA-registered listing as paperwork should look at brands that actually print one. Shoppers who need clearance will not find it on this panel.

Fit note: Honest “only the mask is 510(k)” is the regulatory posture this review will keep. Do not launder the mask’s clearance onto the panel.

User reviews: Trustpilot, 1 September 2026

Public reviews on this page are scored from independent Trustpilot listings, not from manufacturer star widgets. On-site “50,000+ reviews” banners, shop ratings, and homepage star blocks are a different dataset and are not mixed in.

Trustpilot · 1 September 2026

4.7 / 5

3,598 reviews on trustpilot.com/review/sunlighten.com

Company-wide sample. Trustpilot’s own summary talks about saunas, staff, and assembly. Panel mentions exist inside that pile. It is not a thin listing. It is also not a panel-only listing. No Trustpilot listing was found for shop-us.sunlighten.com. Direct fetch of the US listing URL returned a bot-check wall from this writing environment; the score and count are the public Trustpilot figures confirmed 1 September 2026. This is not a winner badge.

On score plus sample size the listing is large and high. Most of those 3,598 reviews describe saunas. If you only want panel-owner feedback, the sample is diluted. This page still will not invent a panel-only Trustpilot score, and it will not substitute shop stars.

Who Sunlighten actually fits

A reasonable first stop

When this catalog is the right panel conversation

  • Already own, or plan to own, a Sunlighten sauna and want a matching 660/850 accessory panel that uses the same app language.
  • Want a 50/50 660/850 split as a density choice, not a compromise, on a 72-LED Mini or a 200-LED 35-inch panel.
  • Want 20+ guided programs, a remote, Custom Mode, and Quick Start more than an offline control board.
  • Want a handcrafted eucalyptus wood frame that can live in a living room, plus dual 30/60 degree lenses.
  • Want HSA / FSA via TrueMed, free shipping on the panel, and a 3-year limited residential warranty with a 30-day “try it at home” window.
  • Accept a brand-stated 200 / 165 / 110 irradiance table with no named instrument, optional goggles, and a stand sold separately.

Look at the 16-brand table instead

When this catalog is the wrong first stop

  • Need 480 nm, 630 nm, 810 nm, 830 nm, or 1064 nm. Those bands are not on either panel.
  • Need a named spectrometer model at six inches. Sunlighten publishes a brand distance table and does not name the instrument.
  • Need a 49-inch or 64-inch chassis, or a lie-under full-body panel. The largest live SKU is 35 x 11 inches.
  • Need a stand and standard goggles already in the sticker. Mounts are paid. Goggles are optional.
  • Need a 60-day trial with prepaid return shipping, or a published no-restocking line. The live window is 30 days. Return shipping is unpublished.
  • Need an FDA-cleared panel. Only the separate MASK is marketed as 510(k). The panel’s FDA status is not published.

Close 660/850 rivals belong on a versus URL when that URL is actually live, and on the 16-brand table, not under a crown on this review.

This review stays on one catalog. Head-to-heads live elsewhere. The Sunlighten versus RLT Home URL is planned on this site and currently 404s in WordPress, so it is labeled planned. No Sunlighten-versus-versus pages are live on redlighttherapytop10.com as of 1 September 2026. This review does not invent those slugs.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sunlighten a sauna brand or a panel brand?

Primarily an infrared sauna company that also sells 660/850 accessory panels. This review scores the RED Light Therapy Panel and Mini Panel only. It does not score mPulse, Signature, Amplify, Solo, ice barrels, or the MASK. Sunlighten’s own FAQ says the panel is for open air, not a heated cabin.

Is two wavelengths worse than seven?

Not automatically. Density matters more than count. Sunlighten puts 50% of each panel at 660 nm and 50% at 850 nm. That is a concentrated two-band design. Buyers who want 810 nm, 830 nm, 1064 nm, 630 nm, or 480 nm will not find those bands here. Pick the density map, not the bigger integer.

Can I treat 200 mW/cm² as a spectrometer peak?

No. Sunlighten’s Light Science Facts table prints 200 mW/cm² at 6 inches, then 165, 110, and 88 at 12, 24, and 36 inches. The instrument is not named. This page keeps that table on its own row and does not rank it as weak. Unpublished spectrometer traces stay unpublished.

Does Sunlighten use dual-chip LEDs?

Not published. Dual-chip is N/A unless a brand lists it. The live panel, Mini, and Light Science Facts pages do not name single-chip or dual-chip construction. This review does not invent a package.

Do stands and goggles come in the box?

No stand in either panel price. Floor Stand $149, Desk Stand $174, Door Hanger $69, VESA $50, plus wall mounts. Goggles are listed as optional under What Is Included, not as standard kit. Remote, app, and power cord do ship.

How does the 30-day return actually work?

Live product pages: 30-day returns, “try it at home.” Restocking fee is not stated. Return shipping is unpublished. Warranty is 3 years limited residential and 1 year commercial, a separate path from the trial window.

Is the Sunlighten panel FDA-cleared?

The panel’s FDA status is not published. Only the separate MASK is marketed as 510(k) cleared. This page does not treat the panel as cleared and does not invent a K-number for the panel or the mask. Home panels that are registered, on other catalogs, are listings, not cleared devices.

What do public user reviews say?

Independent Trustpilot, not the shop widget: 4.7 / 5 from 3,598 reviews on trustpilot.com/review/sunlighten.com as of 1 September 2026. Company-wide listing, mostly saunas. Not a winner badge. On-site “50,000+ reviews” banners are not mixed into that score.

Is there a Sunlighten discount code on this page?

No. Catalog stickers on 1 September 2026: Mini $799, Panel $1,379, stands extra. Sunlighten’s own Labor Day event applies 20% at checkout through 10 September 2026 (Mini $639.20, Panel $1,103.20). That is theirs, not a code we invented. TOP10 6% applies to RLT Home live prices only, in the funnel at the end of this page.

Where should shoppers go for a Sunlighten versus RLT Home comparison?

The slug /sunlighten-vs-rlt-home/ is planned and currently a WordPress 404. No Sunlighten-versus-versus URLs are live on this site as of 1 September 2026, and none are invented here. For a wider field, use the 16-brand ranking CTAs on this page.

Can I use the panel inside a Sunlighten sauna?

Sunlighten says no. Live FAQ: the panel is designed for an open-air, not heated environment. The brand recommends using it before or after sauna use. That last point is theirs.

If the fit is a seven-band full-body panel instead

RLT Home sits at the end of this review on purpose. It is not mixed through the Sunlighten spec sections and it is not awarded a crown here. Shoppers who wanted an in-stock 49-inch or 64-inch chassis, a seven-band mix (480, 630, 660, 810, 830, 850, 1064 nm), nine named modes, and a personalised weekly plan are looking at a different product. Live 1 September 2026 prices from redlighttherapyhome.com/products.json: RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI $495 (TOP10 $465), RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT $995 ($935), RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX $1,595 ($1,499), RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA $2,595 ($2,439), RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE $4,495 ($4,225). TOP10 is 6% off current RLT Home stickers only, nearest dollar. No Sunlighten code is invented.

RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX seven-band red light therapy panel
RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX, one of the in-stock seven-band panels, shown only in this end funnel. Manufacturer CDN photo. Live price $1,595 (TOP10 $1,499). Not a ranking of Sunlighten.

RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI is the 72-LED tabletop. RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT is the 216-LED mid panel. RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX is the 360-LED, 49.2-inch panel. RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA is the 480-LED, 64.3-inch lie-under panel. RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE is the 864-LED, 65 by 20.5-inch flagship. Use the ranking board, and use the planned Sunlighten versus RLT Home slug when that page is actually live.

RLT Home only

TOP10 is 6% off the current RLT Home live price, nearest dollar. It does not apply to Sunlighten. Sunlighten stickers on this page are manufacturer USD. Labor Day 20% through 10 September 2026 is Sunlighten’s checkout promotion, not a code invented here.

Bottom line

Sunlighten in 2026 is an infrared sauna company that also sells two 660/850 accessory panels: Mini $799 and Panel $1,379, stands extra. Labor Day checkout, theirs, takes those to $639.20 and $1,103.20 through 10 September 2026. Fifty-fifty 660/850 density is a real mix. Dual 30/60 lenses, 20+ app programs, eucalyptus wood frame. Dual-chip unpublished. Brand irradiance 200 / 165 / 110 / 88 mW/cm², instrument unnamed, not ranked as weak. Spectrometer not published. Optional goggles. 30-day returns, 3-year limited residential warranty. Panel FDA unpublished; only the MASK is 510(k). Trustpilot 4.7 / 5 from 3,598 reviews as of 1 September 2026, a company-wide sauna mix. Enough to judge fit. Not a market crown.

Important: This article is general wellness information and does not constitute medical advice. Speak with a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new therapy, particularly if you have cancer, are pregnant, or are managing a serious health condition. The Sunlighten panel is not presented here as FDA-cleared. Only the separate MASK is marketed as 510(k) cleared. No K-number is invented. Sessions with these lights may help general wellness routines. They are not a treatment for disease.

Prices pulled 1 September 2026 from shop-us.sunlighten.com/products.json, the live Panel and Mini product pages, and redlighttherapyhome.com/products.json. Irradiance checked against shop-us.sunlighten.com/pages/light-science-facts. Trustpilot score pulled the same date from trustpilot.com/review/sunlighten.com. The versus RLT Home slug currently 404s in WordPress. No Sunlighten discount code. TOP10 6% is RLT Home only. Product photos and the logo are manufacturer CDN images. Red Light Therapy Top 10 may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. That does not change the specs or live prices cited here.
