Wavelengths and density
NrG Light panels list nine wavelengths: 530 nm green, 590 nm amber, 630, 660 and 670 nm red, and 810, 830, 850 and 1060 nm near infrared. NrG does not publish the share per band, but each channel dims from 0 to 100%, and panels pulse from 1 to 10,000 Hz.
Joovv Generation 3.0 uses two bands, 660 nm red and 850 nm near infrared, at roughly an even split. Density matters more than count: Joovv concentrates on two well-studied bands, while NrG spreads across nine and lets you set the mix.
Edge: NrG Light on range and control.
Power and Irradiance: Spectrometer Readings
NrG Light publishes its own spectrometer readings at 6 inches. On the PHOENIX page it names the instrument, an OHSP-350IR spectrometer, for 82.501 mW/cm² (nrglight.com/phoenix; the SPARK handheld reads 55.643 at 3 inches on the same instrument, nrglight.com/spark). The AURA (65.3 mW/cm²) and AURORA (75.1 mW/cm²) spec tables list “spectrometer irradiance” at 6 inches but do not name the instrument. NrG does not say whether any figure is a peak or an averaged reading. These are brand-published spectrometer readings, not independent third-party figures. NrG’s solar-meter figures are not used.
Light Therapy Insiders (LTI) measured a Joovv Solo 3.0 with a Hopoo Color OHSP-350F spectrometer: 72.4 mW/cm² peak and a 9-spot average of 59.2. Joovv’s own irradiance tag does not name the instrument or distance, so it is not used here.
Joovv’s figure comes from an independent tester and includes a peak and an average. NrG’s figure is its own and is not labelled peak or average, so the two are not ranked against each other on power.
Edge: Joovv on independent data. Not ranked on power.
FDA, returns, and warranty
NrG Light says its panels are FDA-listed Class II devices under product code ILY (therapeutic infrared lamp, which FDA lists as 510(k)-exempt) and that listing is not clearance. openFDA returned no NrG Light 510(k) on 3 November 2026. Listed, not cleared.
NrG Light accepts returns within 60 days of delivery with prior authorization, states no standard restocking fee, and the customer pays return shipping or freight on elective returns. Panels carry a 3-year warranty, the SPARK handheld 1 year (nrglight.com returns and warranty pages, 3 November 2026).
Joovv badges its devices with Class II registration wording. openFDA returned no 510(k) for Joovv on 3 November 2026. Registered is not cleared.
Joovv gives Generation 3.0 modular devices a 60-day return period and a 2-year limited warranty. Original shipping is non-refundable and return shipping is the buyer’s cost.
Edge: NrG Light on warranty. Even on returns. Neither is FDA-cleared.
