Medical review: Articles on Red Light Therapy Top 10 are reviewed for scientific accuracy by our medical expert team. This page is wellness information, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. Sessions with either mix may help a general wellness routine. Home panels sold as FDA-registered are a listing, not FDA-cleared. GembaRed is not FDA-registered or cleared. Rojo describes Refine panels as low-risk general wellness devices and does not claim medical-grade status. Neither brand is presented here as treating disease.

GembaRed is the Connecticut enthusiast catalog: external DC adapters, published 0-inch EMF tables, flicker percentages, simple on/off switches, and honest six-inch spectrometer figures that stay modest on purpose. Rojo Light Therapy is the Refine series: dual-chip panels with listed peaks at 630, 660, 810, 830, and 850 nm, independent intensity for each of those peaks, a touchscreen plus app, about ten named smart modes, and a three-year warranty. These are not size clones. A $399 GembaRed Improve does not cover a torso the way a Rojo Refine 900 does. This page scores those two brands only. RLT Home sits in the funnel, not on the trophy.

Overall winner is Rojo. GembaRed is the runner-up for low-EMF contact honesty, published flicker, and modest six-inch peaks. RLT Home is not scored here.

GembaRed’s in-stock line on 1 September 2026 is tabletop and mini: Improve and Rex at 12 x 12 inches, Beacon 3.0 at 14 x 10 inches, then Vector, Spazer, and Proxy. UnderClocked ($1,590, 46 in) and BFP 9000 ($4,990, 50.5 in) are in gembared.com/products.json and unavailable. Rojo Refine 180 is $459 through Refine 3600 at $3,699, with Refine 900 at $1,295 shipping a compatible mount. Prices pulled 1 September 2026 from GembaRed products.json and live WooCommerce variations on rojolighttherapy.com/product/refine-series/. Rojo products.json returned 403, so USD comes from those variation records. Verdict: Rojo for most buyers who want an in-stock 5-band body panel, 810/830 sliders, a 3-year warranty, and LTI 73 avg / 85 peak on Refine 900. GembaRed is the runner-up for 0-inch EMF, flicker %, honest low six-inch irradiance, and the 810 contact mini. RLT Home is not auto-crowned.

The brands at a glance

GembaRed

Low-EMF, DC-adapter, contact-first catalog

GembaRed Improve v1.1 12 inch tabletop red and near-infrared LED panel
GembaRed Improve v1.1, the 12 x 12-inch, 225-SMD tabletop panel with an external DC adapter. Live price $399 on 1 September 2026.

GembaRed has sold panels from Connecticut since 2018. The thesis is an external DC adapter, no fans, published 0-inch EMF, published flicker, and an on/off switch. Improve v1.1 is $399 and Rex 2.0 is $379, both 12-inch SMD tablets. Beacon 3.0 is $499, 14 x 10 inches, convex contact lenses. Vector 810 2.0 is $249, 810 nm only. Vector 810/1050 $329, Spazer 2.2 $299, and Proxy 2.0 $199 fill the minis. UnderClocked $1,590 and BFP 9000 $4,990 are in the live feed and unavailable. US-only shipping, two-year warranty, 60-day trial with customer-paid return shipping. Not FDA-registered or cleared.

Rojo Light Therapy

Per-wavelength control, app, dual-chip Refine series

Rojo Refine 900 dual-chip red and near-infrared LED panel
Rojo Refine 900, the 35.8 x 11.8-inch, 300-LED body panel. Live US price $1,295. A compatible mount ships with every Refine 900 order.

Rojo is Melbourne-rooted with a Nevada warehouse. Live US Refine prices on 1 September 2026: 180 $459 (60 LEDs), 360 $595 (120), 900 $1,295 (300), 1800 $2,195 (600), 3600 $3,699 (1,200, US pre-order, estimated mid November, full payment up front). Dual-chip diodes, 60-degree lenses, touchscreen, and the Rojo LED app sit on every model. Independent intensity for each listed peak is the niche. Marketing copy still says four wavelengths and a 50/50 split between 620-670 nm red and 820-860 nm NIR, while listing 630, 660, 810, 830, and 850 nm. LED share is unpublished. Three-year warranty. 60-day trial, customer pays return shipping, stands not returnable. Free worldwide delivery, import duties possible outside the US. Does not claim medical-grade. Older public hints that named a Refine 600 or priced Refine 360 near $795 do not match the live variation table.

Spectrum and wavelength density: published share versus user sliders

GembaRed prints LED share on Improve, Rex, and Beacon 3.0, and sells minis that drop bands on purpose. Rojo sells user sliders on a five-peak sheet the marketing copy still calls four wavelengths. Density still beats a raw count. Rojo does not print LED share. Rojo can dim 810 nm without dragging 850 nm.

GembaRed Improve, Rex, and Beacon: printed shares, and Rex without 810

Improve v1.1 prints 27% 630, 27% 660, 13% 810, 20% 830, 13% 850 nm. Beacon 3.0 splits the same five bands at 20% each across 75 LEDs. Rex 2.0 skips 810 (about 26.7 / 26.7 / 20 / 26.7% at 630 / 660 / 830 / 850). If 810 nm is the job, Rex 2.0 is the wrong GembaRed panel. Improve’s 13% 810 cell is more surface red than deep NIR on a 12-inch contact tablet.

GembaRed Vector 810nm 2.0 convex lens mini near-infrared LED panel
GembaRed Vector 810nm 2.0, the 810-only mini with convex contact lenses. Live price $249.

Vector 810 2.0 is 810 nm only with convex contact lenses, a niche Rojo does not clone. Vector 810/1050 adds 1050 nm, not 1064 nm, and not a body panel. Spazer 2.2 is five bands at 20% each. Proxy 2.0 is 660 plus 830 dual-chip. UnderClocked and BFP 9000 stay on five bands and both are unavailable.

Rojo Refine: five listed peaks, even 50/50 energy split, per-wavelength sliders

Every Refine panel lists 630 / 660 / 810 / 830 / 850 nm. Marketing copy still says four wavelengths and a 50/50 split between 620-670 nm red and 820-860 nm NIR. Half the energy at the surface reds is a real design choice, closer to a cosmetic-plus-recovery mix than to a deep-NIR-weighted panel. LED share is unpublished, so this page does not invent a 19% 810 nm figure for Rojo. Independent intensity for each peak is the Refine thesis: 630 nm can sit at 10% while 810 nm sits at 100%. Three custom memories and ten named smart modes (Inflammation, Skin Repair, Muscle Recovery, Collagen Repair, Fat Loss, Sleep, Wound Heal, Nerve, Bone & Joint, Pet), plus Sleep fade and Sunrise, sit on the same controller. GembaRed’s on/off switch is the opposite thesis: fewer electronics near the body.

Rojo Refine 360 dual-chip tabletop red light therapy panel
Rojo Refine 360, 120 dual-chip LEDs, 15.5 x 11.8 inches. Live US price $595 on 1 September 2026.

Edge: Split by goal. GembaRed wins printed LED share, the 810-only contact mini, and a no-blue, no-app mix. Rojo wins 810 plus 830 on every Refine SKU and the ability to set those bands independently. Density still beats a raw wavelength count. Rojo’s count is marketed as four with five listed peaks. GembaRed’s Rex count drops 810 on purpose.

Power and Irradiance: Measured by Independent Third Parties

Solar power meters over-report LED output. Spectrometers are the accurate reference. Peak compares with peak. Average compares with average. A 0-inch contact figure is not a 6-inch figure. A solar-style comparison cell is not a spectrometer cell. GembaRed publishes low six-inch numbers on purpose for skin contact. Rojo publishes six-inch spectrometer averages for dosing and labels a higher solar-style figure as competitor-comparison only. Improve’s 5 mW/cm² at 6 inches is not converted into Refine 900’s 73 mW/cm² average.

GembaRed Beacon 3.0 contact red and near-infrared LED panel with built-in stand
GembaRed Beacon 3.0, the 14 x 10-inch contact panel. Live product page: 34 mW/cm² average at 0 inches, 5 mW/cm² at 6 inches, $499.

GembaRed Improve v1.1: 11 mW/cm² average at 0 inches, 5 mW/cm² at 6 inches. Rex 2.0: 10 then 5. Beacon 3.0: 34 average at 0 inches, 5 at 6 inches. Vector 810 2.0: 68 mW/cm² at 0 inches. Proxy 2.0: 55 at 0 inches, 4 at 6 inches. Those six-inch GembaRed numbers are low by design on 0.2W SMD contact arrays. Honest modest peaks are the feature, not a smear. Rojo’s OHSP350IR cell is 75 mW/cm² average on Refine 180, 360, 1800, and 3600, and 73 on Refine 900. The 195 (185 on 900) cell is labelled competitor-comparison only, not for dosing. Light Therapy Insiders measured Refine 900 at about 73 average / 85 peak at 6 inches, matching the brand average, and Refine 3600 at about 72. This page compares LTI 85 peak with other peaks, and 73 average with 73 average. It does not compare 195 solar-style with GembaRed’s 5 mW/cm² cell.

Rojo Refine 1800 full-height dual-chip red light therapy panel
Rojo Refine 1800, 600 dual-chip LEDs, 70.9 x 11.8 inches. Live US price $2,195. Brand spectrometer average 75 mW/cm² at 6 inches.

Rojo wins the body-panel irradiance job on Refine 900 because LTI and the brand land in the same 73-average neighborhood at 6 inches. GembaRed wins the contact-honesty job because those modest six-inch figures are printed, third-party, and not dressed up with a solar-meter headline.

EMF and flicker: published tables versus a 3-inch / 4-inch chart

GembaRed prints 0-inch EMF because the panels are meant to touch skin. Improve: 6 V/m and 0.44 mG, flicker 0.2%. Rex 2.0: 17 V/m and 0.18 mG, flicker 0.2%. Beacon 3.0: 2 V/m and 0.66 mG, flicker 0.3%. Proxy 2.0: 4 V/m and 0.45 mG, flicker 0.1%. The external DC adapter, omitted fans, and on/off switch are the hardware reason those cells exist. Rojo lists EMF 0.8 mG and ELF 2 V/m at 3 inches, 0.0 µT at 4 inches, and flicker as zero. A 3-inch milligauss figure is not a 0-inch figure, and flicker-free copy is not a 0.2% cell. GembaRed wins the 0-inch table and the flicker percentage. Rojo’s 4-inch 0.0 µT cell matches a stand-off Refine 900 job, not a missing 0-inch table.

Chips, lenses, and beam: dual-chip is a fact

Dual-chip is a packaging fact, not a smear. Rojo Refine uses dual-chip 3W diodes behind 60-degree lenses on every size. GembaRed Proxy 2.0 uses dual-chip 660/830 behind convex 30-degree lenses (20 lenses, 40 chips). Triple-chip also appears in GembaRed’s wider catalog. Improve and Rex are 225 x 0.2W SMD, not dual-chip. Beacon 3.0 uses 75 of 3W-rated bulbs with convex contact lenses. Rojo’s 60-degree beam is a stand-off coverage choice. GembaRed’s convex lenses compress skin. Density still beats a marketing LED count: Refine 900’s 300 dual-chip lenses on 35.8 x 11.8 inches is not Improve’s 225 SMDs on 12 x 12 inches.

GembaRed Rex 2.0 DC-adapter 12 inch red and near-infrared LED panel
GembaRed Rex 2.0, 225 SMD LEDs, 12 x 12 inches, no 810 nm. Live price $379. Table-top stand and hanging wire in the box.

Coverage: in-stock tabletops versus in-stock Refine height

Coverage decides the overall winner for most buyers. GembaRed’s orderable panels max out at Beacon 3.0 (14 x 10 in) and the 12-inch Improve / Rex pair: face, joints, one body region on contact. UnderClocked (46 in) and BFP 9000 (50.5 in) are unavailable. Rojo Refine 180 (10.6 x 9 in, $459) is the tabletop peer. Refine 360 (15.5 x 11.8 in, $595) steps past Beacon in height. Refine 900 (35.8 x 11.8 in, $1,295) is the first in-stock mid-tall body panel, mount in the box. Refine 1800 is 70.9 x 11.8 in at $2,195. Refine 3600 is 70.9 x 23.6 in at $3,699, US pre-order, estimated mid November. Rojo is the catalog that ships standing height this year.

Rojo Refine 180 tabletop dual-chip red light therapy panel
Rojo Refine 180, 60 dual-chip LEDs, 10.6 x 9 inches. Live US price $459. Desk stand in the box.

Modes and daily use: on/off versus ten named programs

GembaRed’s daily use is a switch: no presets, no phone, no per-wavelength dimming. Fewer switching supplies near the body is the low-EMF thesis. Rojo Refine ships a touchscreen, the Rojo LED app, independent sliders, three memories, and about ten smart modes. Sleep fades red from 20% to 0% over 30 minutes. Sunrise ramps 0% to 50% over 30 minutes. Pulsing is 1-999 Hz on NIR only. That stack is why Refine costs more than a 12-inch SMD tablet, and why some EMF-first buyers still want GembaRed’s switch. Neither stack is a medical protocol. Sessions with either mix may help a general wellness routine.

Rojo LED app for remote wavelength and smart-mode control
Rojo LED app, manufacturer CDN. Used to adjust per-wavelength intensity and smart modes on Refine panels. GembaRed has no app.

In the box, stands, and eye protection

GembaRed Improve and Rex include a table-top stand. Rex also includes a hanging wire. Beacon 3.0 has a built-in stand. No goggles in the GembaRed box. The FAQ says the products emit no UV and are described as not harmful to the eyes, with goggles optional. That is the published stance, not a medical clearance. Rojo’s Refine carton lists eye protection, power cable, desk stand, and manual. Floor mounts sell separately. A compatible mount ships with every Refine 900 order. Pneumatic stand $445. Vertical and horizontal stands are not returnable.

User reviews: independent Trustpilot, 1 September 2026

Scores come from independent Trustpilot listings pulled 1 September 2026. On-site star widgets are not mixed in. Rojo’s shop page lists about 4.83 from 12 reviews. That number is not used for the winner row.

GembaRed

4.8 / 5

39 reviews on trustpilot.com/review/gembared.com, pulled 1 September 2026.

Thirty-nine reviews is a usable but still modest sample. On-site Improve and Vector stars are not merged into 4.8. Score plus sample: GembaRed wins this row against Rojo’s thin independent listing.

Rojo Light Therapy

3.4 / 5

2 reviews on trustpilot.com/review/www.rojolighttherapy.eu, pulled 1 September 2026. Linked UK listing: 3.7 / 5 from 1 review (www.rojolighttherapy.uk). No Trustpilot listing for rojolighttherapy.com was found at write time.

Two reviews is a thin sample. The independent listing is too small to crown Rojo here. On-site 4.83 from 12 is not mixed in.

Awarded on score plus sample. GembaRed 4.8 from 39 beats Rojo 3.4 from 2. The thin Rojo sample is named, not treated as a hidden 5-star catalog.

Trial, warranty, and shipping

Both brands post 60 days, and both ask the customer to pay return shipping. GembaRed does not advertise a restocking fee. Rojo’s full refund excludes vertical and horizontal stands. Warranty is not a tie: GembaRed two years, Rojo three years on the entire unit. Shipping is not a tie: GembaRed free continental USA only (about 3 days processing plus 2-10 days delivery). Rojo free worldwide from Nevada or the nearest warehouse, import duties possible outside the US.

FDA and how each brand describes the devices

GembaRed is not FDA-registered or cleared. It is marketed as general wellness / low-risk. This page does not invent a registration number. Rojo describes Refine panels as low-risk general wellness devices not intended to cure or prevent disease, and does not claim medical-grade status. Home panels sold as FDA-registered are a listing, not clearance. Neither brand here is treated as a cleared device. Sessions with either mix may help a general wellness routine. Buyers who require an FDA-registered listing will not find it in this pairing. That paperwork sits in the RLT Home funnel note, where home RLT Home panels are FDA-registered, not cleared, and still not the winner of this page.

Live pricing, 1 September 2026

GembaRed prices are live Shopify variants from gembared.com/products.json. Rojo USD prices are live WooCommerce variation display prices on rojolighttherapy.com/product/refine-series/ (Refine 180 $459, 360 $595, 900 $1,295, 1800 $2,195, 3600 $3,699). Rojo products.json returned 403, so those variation records are the US source. No GembaRed or Rojo coupon is invented here. TOP10 is 6% off current RLT Home live prices only, nearest dollar, and only if a buyer leaves this pairing.

GembaRed wins the entry sticker. Improve is $399 versus Refine 180 at $459. Rex 2.0 at $379 is cheaper still, without 810 nm. Refine 180 adds per-wavelength control, a touchscreen, ten smart modes, eye protection, and a three-year warranty on a slightly smaller 10.6 x 9-inch dual-chip sheet. Different jobs at a similar price band.

Tier 2: 810 minis GembaRed sells and Refine 180 does not

Vector 810 2.0 is $249, 810 nm only, convex contact lenses. Vector 810/1050 is $329. Spazer 2.2 is $299, five bands. Proxy 2.0 is $199, 660 plus 830 dual-chip, 20 lenses. Rojo’s smallest Refine is still a 60-LED, 5-band, app-connected panel at $459. This tier is a GembaRed win on 810-only contact shape, not a substitute for Refine 900.

BFP 9000 is shorter than Refine 1800, costs more, omits per-wavelength control, and is unavailable. Refine 1800 at $2,195 is the in-stock 70.9-inch column. Refine 3600 is the wider flagship and is not a same-week ship on the live US page.

Who should buy which catalog

A standing 5-band sheet with 810/830 sliders, three years, and LTI 73/85 starts at Rojo. A 0-inch EMF table, a flicker percentage, and an 810 contact mini starts at GembaRed. Overall winner is still Rojo: GembaRed body SKUs are not in stock, and Refine 900 ships 35.8 inches with a mount.

If this pairing is not the last stop

This page is GembaRed versus Rojo. It does not auto-crown a third brand. TOP10 is 6% off RLT Home only if a buyer leaves this pairing. Both brands also have a live head-to-head against the RLT Home Total Spectrum line: GembaRed vs RLT Home and Rojo vs RLT Home.

If GembaRed stays on your shortlist against a different catalog, GembaRed vs BlockBlueLight and GembaRed vs Hooga score it against other brands, and the GembaRed red light therapy review covers the full lineup. For Rojo on its own, the Rojo red light therapy review covers every Refine size.

Live 1 September 2026: RLT Home Total Spectrum MINI $495 (TOP10 $465), RLT Home Total Spectrum COMPACT $995 ($935), RLT Home Total Spectrum MAX $1,595 ($1,499), RLT Home Total Spectrum ULTRA $2,595 ($2,439), RLT Home Total Spectrum ELITE $4,495 ($4,225). TOP10 is 6% off RLT Home only, nearest dollar. No GembaRed or Rojo code is created. RLT Home is not the winner of this pairing. Home RLT Home panels are FDA-registered, not cleared.

The verdict

Five listed peaks with 810 and 830 on every size, independent per-wavelength control, a three-year warranty, in-stock Refine 900 at 35.8 inches with a mount in the box, Light Therapy Insiders 73 avg / 85 peak at 6 inches, and worldwide freight give Rojo the overall win. Published 0-inch EMF, flicker percentages, honest modest spectrometer figures, 810 minis, Improve at $399, and Trustpilot 4.8 from 39 give GembaRed the runner-up niche. Density beats count. Dual-chip is a fact. Solar-meter 195 is not spectrometer 73. RLT Home is only in the funnel.

🏆 Winner: Rojo Light Therapy

For 5-band 810/830, per-wavelength control, 3 years, and Refine height

Refine 180 $459 through Refine 1800 $2,195, with Refine 3600 $3,699 on US pre-order. Refine 900 $1,295 is the 35.8 x 11.8 in peer with 300 dual-chip LEDs, a compatible mount in the box, and LTI 73 avg / 85 peak at 6 inches. Ten smart modes. Three-year warranty. Free worldwide shipping. Does not claim medical-grade. Independent Trustpilot is thin and is not used as a Rojo trophy.

🥈 Runner-up: GembaRed

For low-EMF contact, published flicker, and honest modest spectrometer peaks

Improve $399 and Rex $379 are the cheaper 12-inch tabletops. Vector 810 2.0 at $249 is an 810-only mini Refine 180 does not make. Beacon 3.0 at $499 publishes 2 V/m and 0.66 mG at 0 inches with 0.3% flicker. Six-inch figures stay modest on purpose. 60-day trial, 2-year warranty, US-only shipping. Not FDA-registered. UnderClocked and BFP 9000 are listed and unavailable. Trustpilot 4.8 from 39 wins the reviews row on score plus sample.

Sessions with either mix may help a general wellness routine. Neither brand is a market crown here. A $399 Improve still does not cover a body like Refine 900. A Refine 900 still does not publish a 0-inch milligauss table the way Beacon 3.0 does.

Frequently asked questions

Who wins GembaRed vs Rojo in 2026?

Rojo overall, for in-stock Refine 900, 810/830 on every size, per-wavelength control, a 3-year warranty, and LTI 73 avg / 85 peak at 6 inches. GembaRed is the runner-up for low-EMF contact minis, flicker percentages, honest modest spectrometer figures, Improve at $399, and Trustpilot 4.8 from 39. RLT Home is not the winner of this pairing.

Does GembaRed use 810 nm and 830 nm?

On some SKUs. Improve and Beacon 3.0 list 630, 660, 810, 830, and 850 nm. Improve prints 13% at 810. Rex 2.0 skips 810. Vector 810 2.0 is 810 only. Rojo lists 810 and 830 on every Refine and lets a buyer set those bands independently. Density still beats a raw count.

Is GembaRed FDA-registered?

No. GembaRed is marketed as general wellness and is not FDA-registered or cleared. Rojo describes Refine panels as low-risk general wellness devices and does not claim medical-grade status. Registration is a listing, not clearance.

What is the live Trustpilot score for each brand?

GembaRed 4.8 / 5 from 39 reviews at trustpilot.com/review/gembared.com. Rojo 3.4 / 5 from 2 reviews at www.rojolighttherapy.eu, with a UK listing at 3.7 / 5 from 1 review. Checked 1 September 2026. Awarded on score plus sample. GembaRed wins the row. On-site Rojo 4.83 from 12 is not mixed in. No rojolighttherapy.com listing was found at write time.

Can GembaRed’s 5 mW/cm² be compared with Rojo’s 195?

Not as a single cell. Improve’s 5 mW/cm² is a third-party six-inch figure on a contact SMD tablet. Rojo’s 195 (185 on Refine 900) is a solar-style comparison figure the brand says should not be used for dosing. The spectrometer pair on Refine 900 is 73 average / LTI 85 peak at 6 inches. GembaRed’s modest six-inch figures are a design feature.

Is dual-chip a weakness?

No. Dual-chip is a fact on every Rojo Refine and on GembaRed Proxy 2.0. Triple-chip also appears in GembaRed’s wider catalog. Dual-chip is not a smear.

Is TOP10 a GembaRed or Rojo coupon?

No. TOP10 is 6% off current RLT Home live prices only, nearest dollar, and only if a buyer leaves this pairing. This article does not invent a GembaRed or Rojo discount code.

Does GembaRed ship outside the United States?

No. Live pages state free continental USA shipping and no international shipping. Rojo ships worldwide from the nearest warehouse, with USA orders leaving Nevada.

What are the live Rojo Refine prices in USD?

1 September 2026 US variation table: Refine 180 $459, 360 $595, 900 $1,295, 1800 $2,195, 3600 $3,699 (US pre-order, estimated mid November). Those are not Australian dollars. Older hints that priced Refine 360 near $795, or that named a Refine 600 / 1200 ladder, do not match the live US SKUs.

Conclusion

GembaRed and Rojo are solving different jobs. GembaRed wins 0-inch EMF, flicker percentages, 810 contact minis, honest modest spectrometer figures, Improve at $399, and Trustpilot 4.8 from 39. Rojo wins 5-band 810/830 on every Refine, per-wavelength control, in-stock Refine 900, a 3-year warranty, LTI 73 avg / 85 peak at 6 inches, and worldwide shipping. GembaRed is not FDA-registered. UnderClocked and BFP 9000 are catalog rows, not orderable body panels. Refine 3600 is a live US pre-order. RLT Home is a funnel, not a trophy.
