NrG Light and Mychondria both publish spectrometer readings with a named instrument, but they build very different panels. NrG spreads nine dimmable bands across each panel; Mychondria concentrates on three bands at a published 1:1:2 ratio. The pair is the NrG AURA and AURORA against the MyLight MIDI 2.0, MAX 2.0 and PRO 2.0.

Trustpilot at write time

Public reviews are a ranking criterion on this page. Scores come from independent Trustpilot listings pulled 3 November 2026. Manufacturer on-site star widgets are a different dataset and are not mixed in.

NrG Light

No listing

trustpilot.com/review/nrglight.com returned a not-found page on 3 November 2026.

No independent review score was found for NrG Light.

Mychondria

4.6 / 5

51 reviews on trustpilot.com/review/mychondria.com (Mychondria), pulled 3 November 2026.

A strong score on a modest sample.

Wavelengths and density

NrG Light panels list nine wavelengths: 530 nm green, 590 nm amber, 630, 660 and 670 nm red, and 810, 830, 850 and 1060 nm near infrared. NrG does not publish the share per band, but each channel dims from 0 to 100%, and panels pulse from 1 to 10,000 Hz.

Mychondria MyLight 2.0 panels use 630 and 660 nm red plus 850 nm near infrared at a published 1:1:2 ratio, so half of each panel is 850 nm. Density matters more than count: Mychondria shows exactly how its LEDs are split, while NrG offers more bands and lets you set the mix yourself.

Edge: NrG Light on range and control. Mychondria on published share.

Power and Irradiance: Spectrometer Readings

NrG Light publishes its own spectrometer readings at 6 inches. On the PHOENIX page it names the instrument, an OHSP-350IR spectrometer, for 82.501 mW/cm² (nrglight.com/phoenix; the SPARK handheld reads 55.643 at 3 inches on the same instrument, nrglight.com/spark). The AURA (65.3 mW/cm²) and AURORA (75.1 mW/cm²) spec tables list “spectrometer irradiance” at 6 inches but do not name the instrument. NrG does not say whether any figure is a peak or an averaged reading. These are brand-published spectrometer readings, not independent third-party figures. NrG’s solar-meter figures are not used.

Mychondria publishes spectrometer readings taken with a named instrument, a HOPOO HPCS-330Pro, at the centre of the panel at 100% output and 6 inches: MIDI 2.0 89.0, MAX 2.0 72.0 and PRO 2.0 66.0 mW/cm². These are brand-published, not independent. Mychondria’s solar-meter figures are not used.

Neither brand says its single figure is a multi-point average, and NrG does not say whether its figure is a peak, so the two are not ranked against each other on power.

Edge: Not ranked on power.

FDA, returns, and warranty

NrG Light says its panels are FDA-listed Class II devices under product code ILY (therapeutic infrared lamp, which FDA lists as 510(k)-exempt) and that listing is not clearance. openFDA returned no NrG Light 510(k) on 3 November 2026. Listed, not cleared.

NrG Light accepts returns within 60 days of delivery with prior authorization, states no standard restocking fee, and the customer pays return shipping or freight on elective returns. Panels carry a 3-year warranty, the SPARK handheld 1 year (nrglight.com returns and warranty pages, 3 November 2026).

Mychondria pages say “FDA registered”. openFDA returned no Mychondria 510(k) on 3 November 2026. Not cleared.

Mychondria gives 60 calendar days from delivery to request a return, in original condition and packaging, and issues the return label at its own expense; third-party costs such as customs are non-refundable. Warranty: 10 years on manufacturing faults, 2 years on stands, cords and other wear parts (mychondria.com refund policy).

Edge: Mychondria on warranty and return shipping. Neither is FDA-cleared.
